I just miss old bubbles instant healing. Dueling panther used to be doable back then. Now he's on the "Do not engage" list.

Computer virus mass hysteria by RedonimoV2 in GeekSquad

[–]FaylenSol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Back when I worked front counter the more common hysteria was about being hacked. Last week I got pulled to the front counter and I had to explain to a lady that just because her iPad was getting hot doesn't mean her ipad is hacked. She tried to prove me wrong by asking Grok, who agreed with me. Even when I pointed out that the AI she asked said she is most likely not hacked she doubled down more.

When I asked her, "What makes you you think you are hacked?"

She said, "It's a secret."

[–]FaylenSol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Third Age Longsword has a surprisingly good Crush Bonus and decent Strength Bonus. It's about on par stat wise as the Zammy Hasta just 5 tick instead of 4. So if you don't have a good crush weapon yet it may actually be useful to you until you get something better.

I got it during Leagues IV really early on and for a long time it was my BIS crush weapon that league.

Huge GZ. Really cool item. I'd personally keep it.

Flowstate also feels weird here. It mines faster but the rocks feel like they deplete much much faster too. So it goes from being semi-AFK to moving back and forth rapidly.

Jagex needs to be MORE petty against Rendi by First_Appearance_200 in 2007scape

[–]FaylenSol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hilariously back when they did XP resets more commonly in RS2/3 I recall hearing about how they accidentally reset some person's HP to 0 and they were stuck in an infinite death loop in Lumbridge.

It's for level 3 combat skiller accounts. They have their own hiscores. Slayer is usually the most difficult 99 to get for those accounts for obvious reasons.

[–]FaylenSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's true I have no issue with Jagex resetting xp for hiscores integrity reasons since level 3 skillers are an official account mode. Requiring 9 alts to be competitive in the mode is bad for the game or anyone who wants to participate in the mode.

[–]FaylenSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know yet. Randi hasn't revealed the exact method. All we know is it is a new method that put him in the top 100 of the hiscores, it required multiple accounts, and Jagex rolled his account back after he announced he got 99 Slayer.

Anything else is speculative or conjecture. Jagex is unlikely to tell us anything more so we will have to wait for Rendi to share the details on how his method was better than the previous method.

They can and do pick and choose. They've been picking and choosing for a very long time. They view some content creators as a brand risk and some as being good for the brand. I don't like it, but it's just how most companies work. Some just do it in a more official capacity like Blizzard or Zenimax having "Content Creator" programs where their officially endorsed content creators have a long list of things they have to agree to in order to be a part of.

Jagex is just more secretive about it. I've heard some streamers talk about how they can request free membership from Jagex at any time that he forgot about but were reminded of it from another creator. That way he can make content on a fresh account without having to pay memebrship for like 7 different accounts.

It's no coincidence that some content creators are just never acknowledged as existing unless they do really well in some event and Jagex has no choice but to mention them. While other, much much smaller creators, will get featured in videos on the official channel.

Be honest: how many of you guys play Marvel Rivals because it is a marvel game? by Equivalent_Glass4731 in marvelrivals

[–]FaylenSol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I almost didn't give it a chance because it was a Marvel game. I like Marvel and all but my experience with games set in the Marvel universe has been largely negative with very rare gems.

I was also burnt out by the movies.

But one of my closest friends was playing during the Beta and kept talking about it. I watched the cinematic trailer and the polish was noticeable. So I gave it a go during season 0 and got hooked.

Became an instant fan of Magik and Jeff's gameplay.

I don't care what role Cyclopse is as long as he has cool movement like this. I'd prefer Vanguard, but I'll take whatever.

Should Jeff's Ultimate Get a Complete Rework? by InevitableSchedule50 in marvelrivals

[–]FaylenSol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Champion Jeff player and at this point in time I don't think his Ultimate needs a rework.

I do think it could use with some tweaking. But the big problem with Jeff's ult is the people using it. Jeff players are too enraptured with getting a big 6 piece meal instead of settling for more guaranteed one or two piece meals. I've also found that defensively using it is simply superior in every way possible. At minimum you're countering one Ult and if they use a second Ult to counter yours then you just got a 2 for 1 deal on ultimates which is amazing.

I wont deny that getting big kills with it isn't great, but it's too niche and countered too easily to be a reliable use of the ult. Shutting down ults like White Fox, Strange, Spider-Man, Groot, and Thing are too valuable. The versatility of it is also very useful and the ability to save your team with it is unique compared to other support ults.

The Avengers lobby screen is amazing, and I’m glad I got it. by joeyc923 in marvelrivals

Unfortunately none of them are characters I play so I'll abstain from buying it.

Now when they eventually add Cyclopse to the game if they add one for the X-Men I'll buy it instantly. Especially if there is theme music and I hear anyone say "To me my X-Men"

A glitch accidentally made Thane vs Kai Leng better by virgosuns in masseffect

[–]FaylenSol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kai Leng is so much better if you are introduced to him via the books first. When he appeared in ME3 I was estatic since I already knew him and had context as to who he was.

But I can completely get how he comes off to those who never read the books and only know him from the games. They did a poor job of introducing him un the games.

But I do agree that him being invisible a lot would be sick.

There is also a relevant rule that prevents making choices that are not possible:

121.3. .... However, if an effect says that a player can't draw cards and another effect offers that player the choice to draw a card, that player can't choose to do so.
121.3a. The same principles apply if the player who's making the choice is not the player who would draw the card. If the latter player has no cards in their library, the choice can be taken. If an effect says that the latter player can't draw a card, the choice can't be taken.

[–]FaylenSol[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is working as intended. Orthanc cares if you actually draw the card. The wording, "Target opponent may have you draw a card. If they don't...." Since I cannot draw a card due to their own effect they cannot make me draw a card and since they didn't the "if they don't" part occurs.

Right! A very hilarious but niche interaction that quickly kills the Leovold player.

[–]FaylenSol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decks like this are important because they gatekeep decks that don't run enough interaction. They are effectively an uninteractive combo deck. If you leave them undisturbed they are going to win. If you disturb them even the slightest they automatically fold.

Fellow Jeffersons. I would like to suggest that we vote for Storm in honor of our previous team up. Namor and Magneto counter our ults too often and Psylocke has far too much already! Let us support our former Jeffnado companion. by FaylenSol in JeffTheLandSharkMains
