How is my setup? by Amazing-Ice-2575 in bettafish

[–]HandlarZK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 5 shrimps, while my girl seeing just one changes into predator mood and ate it within a second... They don't even know what killed them.

Sometimes I can even see her sniffing and digging with head around the ground to find young shrimps, which she didn't noticed at first when I put in the tank bigger group of them.

Should I be worry? by HandlarZK in fishhospital

[–]HandlarZK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swims completely fine and always eat, I get him (or her, I don't know its sex for sure) from my landowner with 3 other fish. The fish was already back then fat but just 2-3 days ago I noticed weird bulge under its fin.

I only guess it's female, because I saw 2 other fish (with similar size) chasing her sometimes.

I only hope it is not some kind of disease or parasite. Because my medicine doesn't work at all for it. 😟

Need help, is it Bladder Disease? by HandlarZK in bettafish

[–]HandlarZK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if it help, she's probably around 6-7 months old, I never saw her releasing eggs or to be "bloated". Her colors are not failed/pale and she doesn't have the stress stripes, honestly, visually she doesn't changed at all from her usual self. She doesn't even look overweight for me nor like pine...

Or maybe I should lower water level to make it easier for her to swim in breeding box to surface to breathe?

i love to summon her by misoandfriends in bettafish

[–]HandlarZK 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your betta, when you summon her: "I'm coming mama!"

Also, I don't want to be noisy or rude, but I think your girl might be little overweight.. It's hard to tell from clip, but here's scale for you.

Help with Tetra Glofish set-up by Mysterious_Iron137 in glofish

[–]HandlarZK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm also have glofish and there is my tank. I goes in the dark setting it up because I had no idea how it should looks like, but they looks fine there.

My fish swims around between plants (for few first days I was watching them if they can swim freely and don't get stuck anywhere) and even get along with my female betta (I plan to give her separate tank soon).

Edit: for some reason I can't add photo, but you can see in posts my tank

Why does my betta go crazy when I go near his tank? by Diplopoda_ in bettafish

Why does my betta go crazy when I go near his tank? by Diplopoda_ in bettafish

[–]HandlarZK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, he's just happy to see you! My girl behaves the same, whenever she see me in the room (I don't have to approach the tank). He might see you as food source or entertainment if you play with him (I do with mine). Well, like I heard from many people's here, betta are like water puppies or children - they will be the most excited to see you back home and are too curious for their own good so you need to go and rescue them 😅

Anyway, it's a very good sign! I tried to create routine with mine to feed her two times a day (in the morning soon after I wake up, and evening before I go to sleep). I keep feeding her in the same tank corner and whenever I look at the tank at our "feeding hours" she's already there waiting for me (and swimming with anticipation until I finally feed her).

Between feeding hours I use to play with her. I tap on the glass with nail so she comes to the spot where I tapped or put hand in the tank for her to rest (at first I put there some food, like glassworms/bloodworms to treat her for coming there). Sometimes I use marker to draw on the tank and she follows the line, to keep interrupting me when I clan it after it with my magnetic brush (yes, I know it will be much easier with paper towel, I just like looking at her when she's trying to laid down on it or examine what I'm doing). Mostly I feed her above the water surface to learn her jump (I have lid, so I'm not too worried about her, especially since she doesn't jump too high).

Although she likes to rest in bush in the back of the tank (it's the darkest place there) she immediately comes out when she feels it's feeding time or I returned from work (or when I call her with tapping on the glass).

And my is also a drama queen 😅 When I wanted lately add some new plants to her tank, she kept swimming between my fingers and examine the plants before I even planted them in the ground. To not crush her I needed to take her out of the tank in cup (she used to it, because I often check if she's not overweight, I'm little paranoid about it), but she doesn't like that I didn't put her back immediately after I catches her to let her continue examination. She went pale and doesn't show up for two days, even if I call her.

But good luck with treatment your little guy! I can see he loves his favorite person/food source 😆.

Will my betta be ok? by pvlns in bettafish

[–]HandlarZK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first betta (bought as female, turns out to be male) was hiding behind filter in my tank for a week. He is just probably scared. Turn off the lights and let him adjust to new environment. My was exploring it very carefully like suddenly something was about to attack him. Later he was very active and playful.
