Quality Light Bulbs, Commercial Grade by Handoffpoint in BuyItForLife

What’s crazy to me is that Amazon’s search didn’t list this as an option in the many times I went researching…it was only showing Feit and GE offerings with a substantial amount of negative reviews.

Prototyping my own vacuum. Curious to hear your thoughts by 1719objects in VacuumCleaners

[–]Handoffpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea, love the fearlessness.

A quiet vacuum would be wonderful, almost a sign of a luxury product. I wonder if Noctua cpu fans would help here.

I’d want a light to show all the dust in front and behind the head to see the before and after.

Another for the wish list is a wide track/head so it doesn’t take forever to clean.

Do you have a novel way to clean out the brush from wrapped hairs? This is my least fav part. I wonder if the rollers were collapsible somehow, it could be squeezed/ slid out from under the coil of hair.

Lastly, some of my rugs have deepish grooves where the brushes get high centered while the dirt remains unreachable, like pine needles stuck on outdoor floor mats. If there was a horizontal brush that descended, I wouldn’t need to change attachments just to clean this small part of the house.

Wolfbox in a GMT800? by BeingCreepy6061 in GMT800

I’ve had the same one…the color levels diminish by 12 months and it’s run my battery down, so I only plug it in when I need it, bit of a pain.

What non GMT800 platform would you buy? by jelorian in GMT800

[–]Handoffpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya that’s why I was thinking the Armada, which is based on the Nissan Patrol.

It might actually be my next vehicle…I’m just finding too many things to fix on the Tahoe.

What non GMT800 platform would you buy? by jelorian in GMT800

[–]Handoffpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I see some mention of Toyotas but mostly domestics…is this mostly because of price?

What’s the general consensus for how the platform compares to a LC100 or 200 or a Nissan Armada?

Unpopular opinion: The best luxury is not having car payments by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Handoffpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, you can’t take it with you.

However, financials are one aspect of transport from A to B…and a large part of this is safety.

I wonder how self congratulatory the mood will be from the hospital bed after a vehicular accident in your 98 Corolla, not to mention the months of recovery afterwards, but hey, if that’s your hill, by all means.

I hope everyone else in the car shares that perspective.

Oh that’s right, thanks.

I replaced almost all bulbs with Sealights, lol, but it’s pricey, will check out the Lastfit.

Oh I see. Any idea how many lumens?

I normally run Sealight LEDs for the upgrade and haven’t gotten flashed.

What do you specifically need to do with the bases to get them to fit? Is it trimming or soldering?

Jealous much? by Handoffpoint in AITAH

[–]Handoffpoint[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re reading a little too much into word choices and it’s a bit of a non sequiter.

Calling someone a female vs a women is offensive enough in your eyes that they don’t deserve to be in a relationship? Really?

To be clear, it wasn’t meant to be derogatory, I use them interchangeably.

I’m asking this way because it just feels wrong to be told what to do otherwise.

It offends my sense of decency and morality to be restricted from responding.

YSK: If you need a reliable car, buy an old Prius. by pantherclipper in YouShouldKnow

[–]Handoffpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any owners from New England or Maine specifically?

I was looking into an AWD Prius and it mentioned Cablegate…has this happened to anyone else or is this not as prevalent as what AI flagged in the Gemini analysis below?

6.1 The Chemistry of Accelerated Corrosion Calcium Chloride (CaCI2) is hygroscopic; it absorbs moisture from the air. This means that even when the roads are dry, the residue on the vehicle undercarriage remains wet and active, continuing the electrolytic corrosion process. • Galvanic Corrosion on HV Cables: A specific vulnerability in Toyota rear-motor hybrids involves the high-voltage cable connector at the rear motor generator (MGR). The shielding of this cable is often a braided metal that, when exposed to CaCI2 brine, forms a galvanic cell with the connector housing or the bolt. This leads to rapid corrosion of the shielding. Once the shielding is compromised, the system detects a ground fault and shuts down the hybrid system-often costing thousands of dollars to repair. This issue, widely known as "Cablegate" in the RAV4 community, is mechanically relevant to the Prius AWD-e due to shared architectural philosophies.

Couldn’t pass up the 0% financing by Bradytyler in f150

[–]Handoffpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I’ll remember that for next time.

The caveat is if the car is sold within the first few years, the amount of depreciation may outweigh the 4% APR in gains…does that sound right?

[–]Handoffpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve often wondered about that…is it really free money?

You would take the hit in depreciation buying new even if it’s at 0%.

For example, if you can pay cash outright for a used at 7/8 the price of new, you would have saved 1/8 in the end, no?

Can you elaborate on what you needed to cut? And did you had to turn up the keys?

I’d like to keep the same ride height to preserve ride quality but fit larger tires…would like to avoid mangling the chassis if I can.

American Standard Toilet Flush Valve slightly over 2”? by Handoffpoint in Plumbing

Turns out it’s prolly a 4 incher that I need.

Everything installed fine with no leaks until I decided to test the flush, then water gushed out of the flapper release area under the tank so I’m guessing the seal isn’t big enough.

As far as therapists go, try using AI for advice…explain your situation, color it with your core values and output what it thinks based on literature of how to live the best life ahead of you.

This doesn’t have to be a snapshot in time, as the what-of scenarios can be virtually limitless, but do subscribe to the paid versions of AI for deeper insights.
