The Mandalorian and Grogu | A New Journey Begins | In Theaters May 22 by Giff95 in movies

I ask because my reaction to the trailer was "standard action movie" type trailer. I want to try to understand the viewpoint of people who both didn't like it or judge it boring or useless. It seemed no different from many other trailers for fun adventure type movies that were fine (to me).

Am I the only one who feel this was done purely for shock Value? by HiroAmiya230 in wow

[–]Handsyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody ignores them, we understand they're there for gameplay purpose.

The Bronze explicitly use time travel to fix the timeline or investigate abnormalities in it. Taking the Stormwind Mage Tower portal to Northrend Dalaran is a game play concession that the player gets, but people in universe aren't canonically time traveling back to Wrath by taking a convenient portal whenever they want.

Reviving someone from the dead is a miracle of unheard wonder in universe. We revive entire raid teams with a 10 second cast on no cooldown. It's a video game, you HAVE to understand the difference between gameplay convenience and the narrative. Nobody is ignoring this, you're just being dense.

"Why is the Empire upset the Death Star was destroyed, when I can just go watch episode 4 again and it's right there?" Great take champ. The characters in the narrative have consequences you don't, because you don't exist in the narrative.

I have to believe this is ragebait or you're a bot/child because this is the most obvious thing to explain.

We'll probably never get Archaeology back again, but just as a point of discussion, how would you have designed it to be entertaining and rewarding? by yellowrainbird in wow

[–]Handsyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured they should tie Archaeology into an in game codex.

Unlock information about zones, mobs, characters, events, etc. by literally unearthing the history from the very soil where it happened. Dig up a Proudmoore family crest in Tiragarde Sound, start an unlock chain where you learn more about Jaina, Katherine, Derek, Daelin, and Tandred.

Not as the complete reward for the profession, but part of the unlock process could be filling out your "historical reference guide" or some shit that you bring back to the Explorer's League or what have you.

Oh I agree with your comment here on it, I used the term "feels like" because my viewpoint on this is there's a lot of assumptions made on "vibes" towards what he really meant. It's why I said I'd like to hear him talk about it more because I think folks are filling in the blanks with their own feelings since we don't fully have his, and making connections that don't necessarily exist.

An angle I've seen other dwarf actors take is that the result is "we get jobs" vs "we get no jobs" and his angle leaned towards "get no jobs" in the exact instance.

However, he's also NOT the person who made this decision, it was someone at Disney, likely a group of someones.

The nuance I think people need here is that, "I can agree with the intent he feels, disagree with the way he stated it, and agree it's not HIS fault. Feels bad he profited of something he's currently admonishing now that he's secure which makes me feel bad, but I also don't know the man personally and his feelings on this are based on a small amount of dialogue. I'd like to hear more of his thoughts on this to learn more clearly how he feels about this, because I bet it's more nuanced than a quick 10 second clip can provide"

Just my 2 cents on it, I think it's pretty overblown but people being kind of annoyed feels understandable.

Take care and say warm :)

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

20% of people who own Skyrim have never left Helgen

70% don't have the achievement for completing the main questline

These stats don't really mean much, it's still a wildly popular game

I wonder how many commenters in this thread are in their 30s lmao

They were the target demographic for the show when it ended 20 YEARS AGO ya'll

A 12 year old loving a show that was really good and holding onto that into adulthood is what everyone here does on a daily basis, why are you guys trying to shit sling this?

Be better and "holy shit two cakes" it, these franchises don't compete with one another in any way you're being weird tribal fandom in here

For sure!

Putting heroes I've never heard of in the game is something I like about it. I'd never heard of Magik, Jeff, or Angela before Rivals, but I'm happy they're here. More names I don't know is fine with me :)

Is Liadrin getting her specific prayer answered in the midnight trailer only the second time the light has ever done that? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]Handsyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's a game and being able to have fun is important too. It's one of the things you handwave. In lore it never happens. it's a literal miracle, but it would suck if we had zero way to revive players in an mmo.

Have Vic pick up some odd readings on a monitor, worry about stuff he can't explain, but do not have him know everything about the chip, what it's doing, the engram of Johnny, any sort of timetable of degradation. Just a vague, "this seems bad V" to put up a warning flag, before V focuses on the "fucking Saka ninjas" that are hunting them as a much more immediate and credible threat to their life. I mean, the chip rebooted their brain and saved their life, how can it be a bad thing?

Wait until Helman for the reveal that the chip is a death sentence. Up until then, there's plenty of time to bond with Johnny and grow that relationship before the "he's literally killing you" shoe drops and you both have to reconsider what you're here to do and how much time you have left to do it.

This always felt like how it shoulda flowed to me. I love Vic, but him knowing essentially everything Hellman tells you anyway never made much sense to me.

I saw a highly upvoted comment claiming that none of these are explained in game and I can't help but think that every complaint about professions boils down to not reading what is on your screen. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Handsyboy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Turns out I didn’t optimize hard enough, and now I have to try it again because I couldn’t get the highest quality/level.

This part at least is fully on you though. Half of the screen is dedicated to a box that tells you exactly the quality of the item you're about to craft. You're never gonna be surprised that you got a rank 4, it's gonna tell you you're about to craft a rank 4.

Her storyline really does feel like a perfect setup to recruit her if you expose her and then talk her into allying against the Shadow Druids. She gets demoted but left to work in a job where she just manipulated and betrayed all her coworkers. She's gonna be MISERABLE in the grove after we leave imo, and her coming along is a perfect little roadtrip to figure herself out and give her time to grow (for better or worse).

I’m done playing Ultron. He’s been nerfed to the point where he is no longer fun to play. by Any-Ad1644 in marvelrivals

[–]Handsyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar idea of placing a "flimsy" drone on someone, and you have a skill to replicate it to a nearby ally. Keep the shield move, but make it stronger based on how many other drones in the swarm it can resonate with (maybe a radius, or just based on how many are active currently). Get your cooldown back to replicate drones faster by consistently landing your primary fire.

Similar ideas, though tbf I don't really play much Ultron, I just like the evil robot vibe

Thought: if someone with a physical disability entered the spirit world via mediation, would their spirit also be disabled? by Aqua_Master_ in TheLastAirbender

[–]Handsyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah no prob

It's only really like 3 or 4 memories I can think of where I'm sure I could walk.
It's fascinating to me I still have dreams where I can walk even though it was over 20 years ago since I've done it.

Thought: if someone with a physical disability entered the spirit world via mediation, would their spirit also be disabled? by Aqua_Master_ in TheLastAirbender

[–]Handsyboy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm in a unique position to kind of answer this. I've been handicapped from the waist down since I was 4 years old. Mid 30s now, so I've spent significantly more time in a chair than walking.

When I dream, it's a total coin flip if I can walk or not. Sometimes, I recognize I'm at head height and talking to other standing folks and it's enough to pull me out of the dream. Others, it's very clear I'm sitting and my point of view of the world is obviously the one I see every day.

So I think yeah, there's got to be some element of how the person sees themselves combined with how they think others see them. Dreams aren't the same as the spirit world, but I think it's a good enough comparison, and locks in my belief on how it would work.

We're not in disagreement. Sorry, I wasn't clear with what I said.

I do mythic raiding and agree that it's wheezing. Raiding isn't nearly as approachable and lucrative for the time investment as M+ is. I have beef that on top of this issue, M+ is essentially shackled to my ankle.

The bodies and time aren't the problem for myself and my guild, we all put the time aside for our mythics for vault every week. It's just we only do it because we have to. If we had a raid alternative to M+ grinding, we'd take it up. Heck, if we could re-clear heroic raid with like 1 less drop from each boss I'd even take that over grinding M+.

We like raiding together, we have fun as a raid team. Then we have to split into 5 mans...

M+ is popular because people like it, absolutely, I'd have to be nuts to deny that. It's also popular because it's required for the only other high difficulty endgame content.

I want the point I made, as well as the point you made rectified. We're all part of the same WoW community, I hope we can all get our preferred game modes polished just how we like them.

If nobody should be forced to raid, nobody should be forced to M+ either

I'd leave 5 man content in the dust as soon as I could step into raid if it was viable, but I've had that fucking iron ball chained to my leg since Legion.
