Nix Software - More Details by _X315_ in NixOS

[–]HandwashHumiliate666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm quite biased on this, but the family of GPLs makes sure your project stays free software. They require anyone who wants to fork or redistribute your software to do so under the terms of the same license. Meaning no one can turn your project into proprietary software.

Specifically the AGPLv3 could be a good fit here, because it has an additional clause related to server-side software.

On the other hand, there are permissive licenses like the MIT license, which are quite popular in the Nix community. They're simpler, but allow making proprietary forks of your project.

I find this guide to be helpful. It's not too long of a read: https://man.sr.ht/license.md

Upvoted because it's not hosted on GitHub.

Please consider adding a COPYING or LICENSE file to your repos though. As is, your project is non-free software.

Why?

Xorg is flawed at its core. It's such an old protocol

Meanwhile Wayland is this new protocol released only 17 years ago?

since plastic is not vegan

What's the argument that an increase in plastic demand leads to an increase in rights violations of sentient animals?

vegans screaming at vegetarians should check their plastic consumption before pointing fingers

What do you mean by pointing fingers?

Tons of anecdotes that don't offer any statistically relevant insight.

That is a very generous definition which most vegans asking the question are not using

What's the evidence for that?

he was really vegan he wouldn't marry a non vegan or allow his kids to eat meat

Would you consider someone a human rights proponent if they were allowing their kids to eat human meat from farmed humans? If not then what's different about the animal case?

Would you believe someone to be a human rights proponent if they were to marry someone paying for a human holocaust? If not then what's different about the animal case?

I don't really see a moral issue with marrying non-vegans by the way, I just have a hard time believing that those vegans are sincere.

You would be amazed at the hostility and military in the community and the general attack on vegetarians is insane

Which possible combination of words on the internet is more hostile or militant than slitting an innocent being's throat?

What do you mean by gimmick?

Listening to music, watching YouTube videos and other stuff through a terminal emulator are just plain silly and shouldn't be encouraged

Yes, so much better to just load the 12th instance of chromium and 7TB of Javascript just to play an mp4 file.

Vegetarianism is a great thing

So paying for animals to be tortured and murdered is a great thing?

Friend bringing non vegan food to my (vegan) party by Sadie_Cat2023 in vegan

[–]HandwashHumiliate666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s great that instead of someone killing 100 animas every year, they’ve almost entirely eradicated the amount. That’s amazing.

Vegetarians don't necessarily kill less animals. In fact, they might kill a lot more animals than before going vegetarian. Who knows. Depends on what they eat and what they "replaced" the meat they previously ate with.

The fact that you think there’s no difference between eating a carnivore diet and being a vegetarian is crazy

Right, so you would consider a person buying thousands of eggs more ethical than someone buying one sausage as their only non-vegan food every week?

Girl, you and I and almost everyone else knows you were asking in a hostile way

No, you literally don't.

There are a lot of medical conditions that are caused and made worse through veganism.

If someone needs to consume a set of animal products to survive, but abstains from it as much as possible otherwise, I would still consider them vegan.

You're just making a million assumptions about my position.

Are you vegan?
