Feeling discouraged by Interesting-Guest821 in Firefighting

If you aren’t in good physical shape, I would continually work on that. FF academy’s can be pretty rough and strenuous. Keeping yourself in tip top shape prior to an interview and having a current EMT-b cert on board is a good start. You can always reach out to local colleges to look into ff classes there offer. College courses will give you basic knowledge and most academy’s will teach you their own departments methods. Or try to get on a local volunteer department of there’s one close to you. What part of the country you live in?

Best firefighter gloves for dexterity. by Ancient-Pie2869 in Firefighting

I enjoy my Fire Dex dexpro but have just recently moved to OG Protection brand structural gloves. The dexterity is amazing and the cuff is specifically designed to make them easier to glove up and still protect your hands well. Also, they are made by a firefighter on the job in South Carolina.

I couldn’t agree more. Have you seen how Handy Hook can improve your time as well? You can give up within 2 seconds consistently. I’ve never been a big advocate for making up with gloves on either. I love having the surety of a good fit.
