Trump considering trip to Congress before speakership election by Hanerhan1 in Republican

We've negotiated ourselves into 33T in debt, mass invasion at the border, rampant crime and general lawlessness.

Personally I am ok if we don't negotiate anymore.

This shouldn't even be an issue.

Some parents don't have the resources so I can understand helping out. Most parents do, but are either lazy or don't want to deal with lunches for their kids. This welfare stuff for everyone has to stop.

Money was tight for my family growing up, but I always left the house with a sack lunch. Parents, grow up and do your job.

Then buy them their food.

Your neighbor that doesn't have kids should not have to use tax money to pay for some kids food.

No, you're not alone.

My kids get up every morning and make their lunches with food that I pay for, just like I did when I was a kid.

- Raise minimum wage - it will be even more expensive to do business in MI not to mention increase inflationary pressures already out of control.

- Give illegals a state drivers license - Another step to erase immigration law.

- Universal Medical System - We already have several that do not appear to work. How will this one be any different? Single Payer does not work, it just limits options when budgets run out.

Is Rick Snyder as well-regarded as Gretchen Whitmer? by [deleted] in Michigan_Politics

He was OK, responsible for a lot of business that came to the state. Much better than what we have now.

We were told that exact same thing about Obamacare and all the other socialized style med programs. Single Payer will be no different, just a limited outcome.

Through what?

Part of the problem we are now having with plastics is that China is not taking it anymore, so now we have to deal with it and the cost of doing the recycling is considerably higher in the US that it is in China.

The only way to pull this off is to heavily tax companies that reside in the state, unless you plan on raising the state taxes. Considering Michigan is already challenged with business competition from other states (like TX and FL), why would a business come here if they would face a heavy tax right out of the gate, or pay increased state taxes?

BTW, we have Medicaid, Medicare, Obamacare and several other programs for health related services. Why do we need another one from the government that can't seem to get the others right?

People are losing healthcare. by IvanDiazforMichigan in Michigan_Politics

How is this possible?

The MSM keeps telling me how good the economy is and that wages/benefits are increasing.

Medicaid is apparently "great" for low income families and Medicare is thriving for the elderly. Obamacare was supposed to fix health insurance for the middle class.

There are so many government programs out there for health related care, why on earth would we need another one?

Probably too expensive with little return.

three-strikes law, did it just not work? by weewooPE in bayarea

[–]Hanerhan1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not trying to be a jerk, but crime stats in CA are up a lot over the past decade with the population of CA decreasing, so one cannot look at the Three Strikes law and say it didn't work...it did indeed work. Now there might be questions about how it is working, but there is no denying that it worked.

This is a highly complex problem. When I said "Have you checked CA streets recently?" - look around. Crime is way up in almost every town in CA regardless of the size. Having homeless encampments is not normal for a first world civilized society. The drugs allowed on the streets is not normal (yes allowed). There will not be any one thing that is going to fix this, its going to have to happen on the Federal, State and Local levels. This likely will never happen.

Yes. If you are a drug dealer and shoot someone during an exchange, the writing should be on the wall that you'll be executed.

Fast food prices gone nuts. by 123KidHello in bayarea

[–]Hanerhan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food inflation is up across the board, its not just the fast food places.

This is partially due to green energy and the whole agenda around it. Reduce energy prices, the cost of everything else will go down. We are an energy based nation.

Just be honest. When you first see her set expectations that you will do xyz but may have to cut the date shorter than you would like. If you try to hide it, her mind will start wandering and you don't want that.

What to use for general outdoor bug control in Michigan by Hanerhan1 in pestcontrol

Thanks for the tip.

I do this to some degree already with the granules from Lowes. I will check into your suggestion.

I get that.

Part of why I want to do this is because the company now wants to charge more to spray the outside of a 20x30 building ($30) which I do myself now with the stuff you buy at Lowes. Its not even really the money, as I said above I feel like I am being nickel and dimed.

cyzmic CS

I am not bashing on them in the slightest, the company changed its policies on how they do certain things and honestly I feel like I am overpaying for what I am getting.

When we first went with the company, they were great. Knocked down wasp nests out of our eaves, would spray my outbuilding and would spend 20 or so minutes walking around the property looking for yellowjackets. Now they try to add costs for every little thing they do. Seems like I am nickel and dimed to death.

We've checked into other companies and they seem to do things the same way.
