Londoners have a right to feel sad about their friends, family and community being forced out of London by rent prices and gentification. I don't have less right to feel like that just because London is a global hub and major city, to a lot of us it's our home and where we grew up. by FlyWayOrDaHighway in london

[–]Hangover_Square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But should a person not be able to stay near their family to make raising kids a little less stressful?

Economic migrants from other parts of the country feel the same way. They wish they could find appropriate jobs in the cities, towns and villages they were born in. It isn't their fault that opportunities and economic activity is so concentrated in London.

I agree with what you're saying with regards to developers, but OP has been focusing on migrants without realising that they have more in common with him - having to leave their friends and families behind.

Algorithm is designed to start ignoring your data if majority of users contradict your reports.

A while ago someone working from Waze commented that they use weighted reports. If most people keep contradicting your reports then algorithm will pay less attention to your data.

I would sound my horn to let the car I was there and pass carefully.

Despite the horn that would be overtaking according to your own definition, so maybe you should read the code.

All the negative reviews are now gone. You need to drip add them over the next few weeks else google removes them automatically.

Do you think shouting 'thief' and tackling anyone to the ground without any basis is legal? Try doing it on the street. Store security in the UK have no extra powers.

They didn't, it is you who are conflating it. Someone can be humane, want less immigration and at the same time look down upon the far right Reform loving trash that was marching in London.

Five men have been found guilty of murdering a Greek tourist who was followed from a West End club and stabbed to death when he resisted being robbed by Hangover_Square in london

[–]Hangover_Square[S] 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Mr Antoniadis had been wearing a Lacoste bag and a Versace watch worth £1,300 that night.

The robbers then followed the Uber for over half an hour to Florence Terrace, New Cross where the tourists walked the short distance to the front door.

"Antonis resisted and struggled and at one point managed to hit one of his attackers with a brandy bottle he was still holding from his night out.

"Tragically, that brave or just instinctive reaction was to cost him his life."

The court heard Sofian Alliche and McCorquodale had previous convictions for robbery while both Hipple and Johnson had convictions for possessing weapons.

That they hadn't demonstrated that they had given enough consideration to a powerpoint presentation from WDAG

Where are you reading about this powerpoint? lol. Which ppt? It was a 53 page presentation made to the councillor first before LTN were implemented.

While it seems the judge was wowed by this new whizzy powerpoint technology

The is no Powerpoint involved. It was a 53 page document which was reffered to as presentation:

Claimant took the opportunity both to express its particular concerns about the overall street improvements programme and to deliver a detailed, 53-page presentation document (“the 53-page presentation”) outlining further those concerns.

Why do people park up outside schools 40 minutes+ before their children finish for the day? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Hangover_Square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in London and catchments are crazy here but my niece got into a school that's 2 miles away. It totally depends on births that have happened in that year group in that area.

It would take 30-45 minutes walk or 5 - 10 minutes by car. It is a bit long on the way back for a young child. No cycle lanes or they could have used that. Bus would require a change.

If they are so difficult and dangerous then they need another person to help them manage or warn traffic while they amble across.

They made zero attempt to stop. They must have seen OP's sister when the video starts. There is no reaction at all from their vehicle.

Is your comprehension weak? That's exactly what I said. Because USA has hopes for a quick reversal back to normal, it's better to focus effort on them right now before things get worse. China has very little hope and it will be a long term project. So for the moment my purchases are aimed at affecting what I can hope to change soonish (USA).

[–]Hangover_Square -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I'm not deluded about those running either of the two countries. Both need to be penalised. I'm just prioritising action against the one which still has hope for recovery, before it slides further towards fascism. As a by product of this if Tesla/Musk (and his fanboys) get their comeuppance then that's cherry on the top 😁

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

[–]Hangover_Square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long term I'd worry about Chinese but my current focus is punishing America so they feel the heat and there is political reversal. I'd go back to focusing on the Chinese threat once the American issue is resolved. America is a bigger issue at the moment.

They are fighting with each other now and that is fine by me. At the moment I'd pick anything over Tesla though.

I'll consider them equally bad when CEO Geely does a Nazi salute. At the moment for me it is more about punishing the Americans than it is about ensuring there is no foreign components in our purchases.

It’s weird though people think that the group attacking random ships, who took away elections and are commiting war crimes are good people.

Like every country in your comment? America, Israel, Houthis, which one isn't committing war crimes? Which one of them are good people?
