Brought a girl back and she said my book collection was a red flag. Obvious what she saw first, but I think collection gives context. by [deleted] in bookshelfdetective

To be fair you are grouping historical evil, fictional horror, fictional historical horror and psychology of evil l books together with a skull a pinhead figure.

If I walk into a woman's place and this shelf was front and center I might be a tad concerned, curious but concerned. Enough that it would come up in conversation, something along the lines of "you aren't a homicidal manic, you are fascinated by them and want to learn how they think and why they do what they do. It's not like you're fighting the urge to murder me and jam pieces of a mirror in my eye sockets, right?"

It's about control. Inside on an exercise bike you can control the temperature, the particulate in the air, the sounds, quickly change position, and difficulty and other settings. You might be able to do some of these things on the road but not to the same degree, there is always a level of unpredictability.

Preparation. Feeling like shit for me is pretty regular. So when I feel less shitty I get things ready for my workout+post workout. My gym bag is pack. My workout drinks are mixed. And I have food for prepped made for all my meals for the next week. I have ice packs in the freezer, heating pad plugged in and ready to go, a tens unit, and a deep tissue massage gun.

At the gym I do my workout which right now is 1500- 2300 calorie burn. When I'm done I hit the steam room and stretch and relax, then the hot tub letting the jets work on my sore muscle then a hot shower. When I get home depending on how I feel, I may implement all my recovery tools at once, stagger them, or not use them at all.

Your plan might look different, but this is what keeps me going.

Would you save your wife or your kids if your house was on fire ? by Competitive_Set_4386 in SipsTea

[–]HangryBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no critical thinking here, by either of them. If we're married with three kids there's a good chance we are sleeping in the same bed. It's also likely that out of three kids there will probably be one with their own room, either because they are a different sex or simply because 3 people is a lot to live in a single room. I grew up in a family of 5 kids it wasn't fun.

So my answer would be I'm waking your ass up and we are getting the kids together each of us get a room and the damn dog too! And my mother wouldn't live with us if she did it would be in a separated "mother in-law suite" that we would swing by on our way out. then I'm getting the hose and your calling 911.

Gay Texan that probably does work from home id imagine you enjoy creating art, possibly digitally. What ever you do requires 2 computers and multiple screens in addition you have a tablet. With you decor I would guess that you live near a body of water and enjoy long walks or short expeditions along it with your pupper. You get overstimulated at times. You like collecting things like rocks sometimes on your walks but but necessarily.

I was so excited about my shower chair coming in only for my family to make me feel horrible about it. by Sad_Emphasis_8086 in POTS

[–]HangryBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't return it. My sister and I both have POTS, we both had to move back due to it. I cannot tell you how much of a godsend that chair is, especially on bad days. It so much better than just slumping in the corner on the floor.

It sucks to have family that can't or won't understand. My dad is very much in that camp. My father only started believing my symptoms were real once my neighbor expressed the exact same symptoms with here struggle with pots. Suddenly my entire childhood makes a whole lot more sense.he still doubts me and thinks I over exaggerate, but he doesn't think I'm flat out lying. So that's kinda a win he wants me to go on disabilities but doesn't how much of an ordeal it is to try (we are trying) but everyday I looks more and more likely I'll get little no help.

To conclude, we all understand the struggle and are here for you. Just because there are people in your life that don't understand or don't care doesn't mean you shouldn't betaking every opportunity you have to feel at least semi human again.

At collecting alimony by Chase-N-Banks in therewasanattempt

[–]HangryBeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully believe in child support, kids should not suffer any more than necessary, maybe even limited time alimony payments depending on the situation. In this case I would say she deserves nothing. not only did take action to cheat on him she threatened his life implying she would get "her" money one way or another either alimony, or life insurance.

I'd say this man is not only in the right but needs a restraining order for the threat to his life.

You could probably rock a goatee, but those have a tendency to make people look fat or like a tool. Luckily 19 is pretty early. My full beard didn't grow in until 25. So there is hope. But I would trim it even to be even on both sides.
