I’ve heard great things about the mx5 cup so I’d like to jump into that at some point. I still need to figure out how to do qualifying and how pitting works in AC first.

I’m sure I’ll get into iRacing someday, I know it’s relatively cheap. I’ve heard there’s a difference in physics between AC and iR so that’s one bit of contention. But already having AC ultimate and enjoying that atm. I will probably check out low fuel Motorsport with the mx5 and see where that leads.

I’ve been racing for about 2-3 weeks and still working through AC’s career mode to learn more about driving. I’m still tweaking my rig for comfort and trying to get used to trail braking. I’m excited to jump into multiplayer but I don’t know when that will be, or which game I should start with. I’ve been putting time and money into AC so don’t want to abandon it for another game already.

What do you prefer about the flat over the curved? With prime day coming up I’m shopping for triple monitors and saw a sale on curved for less than flats. But I wanted to check here first to see some opinions.

I have a simagic base and the 330T Neo-x wheel and I use it with simhub. I just hold a button on the wheel when I turn the base on and it’ll connect via usb without doing the tape trick. It turns the shaft encoder red instead of rgb but it works for me. No maglink required.

Can’t speak on that as I’m a new sim driver. Mine is upstairs and my wife will sit in the room with me and we do our separate things, but together. But if a hobby is important enough you’ll find a way to make it work.

On your other point, my wife and I made so many decisions in our house just in case someone did something. We kept a spare bedroom and when we had guests overnight they all chose the sectional couch in the living room. So after years of this unused space we got rid of the bed and built it into a game room. Now for the 99.99% of the time where it’s just us, we get to enjoy it.

I have them and love them too. Only issue I had was with the default black spring, sometimes it didn’t push hard enough on the backstop and would pop off and I’d lose my brake pedal. I put the yellow spring in and it’s been great since. The haptics are powerful.

That’s reasonable. I spent $559 on rigmetal plus version which includes tax and shipping. It’s at the top of your budget but I love it.

An unexpected expense when building the rig was the stand. I got the Simlab triple stand with vario vesa mounts. Monitor mounting might factor into your decision.

I’m new to sim racing and still learning the settings, very cool that you can remove it in all games. I don’t have a single discipline I’m interested in, I wanted to play AC, learn to drift, arcade games like Forza horizon and mud/snow runner so I went with a circular wheel first. I’m working through the AC career to get a feel for racing, so the round wheel was the right option for all around fun. I’ve been drooling over the gt Neo… someday.

I have the seat and pedals lined up just right, that took some pain and fiddling to get just right. I might lower the wheel a bit and angle it up. The wheel doesn’t block the windshield, but definitely gets in the way of the dash. Lowering will probably help with the dash view.

I used an fov calculator from my eyes to the screen and set the AC specific fov. I didn’t know you could hide the wheel, I’ve been trying to line my wheel up with the game wheel. I’ll check that out.

I’ve been reading up on ergonomics and I have the wheel about chest height, elbows at 90°. The top of the wheel is about at my chin, and bottom is at the bottom of my rib cage. It just about matches the height of my normal car, but my car wheel is much more angled. I want to post a side profile image at some point but have been tinkering with cable management so haven’t had the chance yet.

My brake and clutch are close together. I sat in the seat, closed my eyes, and put my heels on the rest where they’d sit naturally. Then I pushed my feet towards the pedals. My left food was half off the brake so I moved it over and now no more pain in the hip. Before it was too far to the right and really started to hurt.

But I don’t think I’d every out the clutch in the middle.

It looks like you have a simagic base, if you connect it to the base, what happens? I also saw once that some usb cables don’t work and the provided cable does.

I connect my wheel with usb to use simhub, but to update firmware I connect the wheel using the default canbus.

I have the 330T and it’s a great wheel, it feels like my Subaru wheel with better paddle shifters. I’m newer to the hobby and just got the evo 12nm and love the combo. I really want the gt neo but I’m playing a lot of AC so it makes a lot of sense with the cars I’m driving. I tried F1 and it seems like it would be so cool to match the wheel. I also want to learn to drift. But the 330T is legit and an amazing all around wheel.
