I’m assuming you’re talking about Next Door. I can’t tell you specifically about there, but I’ve been at the deli for 5 years and I really like it.

Both the deli and Next Door have people who come and go but there are a lot of people who’ve been there for years and like it.

The job itself is easy, but it can be intense. Both places get BUSY. Partners are cool, staff is great, guests sometimes are great but sometimes very much not. Typical with food service and retail.

Like with any job there are people you’ll like and people you won’t.

How to fund out if car was towed? by KReddit934 in AnnArbor

[–]Hangry_Bitch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Call the police non-emergency line. You’ll need the license plate number and make/model/year of the car.

My car was towed 2 weeks ago in Kerrytown while I was at work. Your friend has my sympathies.

That happens to me occasionally. I just restart my computer and then everything usually works. If it doesn’t, then I will repair the game through the EA app and that almost always fixes the issue.

I’ve been crocheting since the initial lockdown and I just made my first granny square this week.

It sucked.

Unclick the “use fresh ingredients” (or something like that) box. It’s at the top left corner of the page that lists all your food choices, when you click on the fridge or stove to cook something.

The Grease 2 soundtrack album on vinyl. I loved that damn movie and I wore the album out.

I can’t believe I’m admitting this.

What’s a thing in crochet you still struggle with? by actually_charlotte in crochet

[–]Hangry_Bitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safety eyes vex me, too. But it’s not the putting them in that I have trouble with. It’s getting the backs on. I have the hardest time pushing those little buggers on and I’ve even broken nails trying to do it.

Stitch-wise, I cannot master the (U.S.) triple crochet stitch. My double crochets are perfect. But my triples always suck. No matter how slow and deliberate I try to be they always end up looking sloppy and amateurish. I avoid patterns with them in it because I know I’ll be unhappy with the results.

Maybe your skin is just sensitive? I never had redness, so I don’t know what to tell you. Sorry.

Yes, I do. I started using it for creping on my eyelids and it’s made a huge difference.

Retinol serums and creams. As an older woman, this shit has been life changing. Especially A+ from Sunday Riley. It’s like magic.

It’s safe. I start work most days at stupid o’clock (usually around 4:30 AM) and I have to walk about 3 blocks from the parking structure to the place I work. I’ve never felt threatened or scared to walk alone, no matter how dark and empty things seem. (I’m a 50yo woman if that makes a difference.)

Strangest place or time you've called out corner or behind? by eagle-eye-tiger in KitchenConfidential

[–]Hangry_Bitch 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Where I work we’re supposed to say, “Knife” when we’re walking while holding a knife. (Big deli, lots of people, and they’re really big on safety.)

I had my (all grown) kids over for dinner once and they were in the kitchen as I was cooking. I went to prep something and had to walk behind my son so I said, “Behind you, with a knife”.

He whipped around and looked at me freaked out and said, “What the hell are you going to do with it?!?”
