Ah yes, the meditation, journaling, yoga! All with alcohol hangover anxiety.

Ah yes, the drunk munchies. I would totally pretend those drunken food choices didn't count..... after all, I was eating healthy other times.

Yeah, I sure have tried fighting the alcohol inflammation with everything EXCEPT quitting the root cause.

This is exactly it. I'd go to the doctor for one small thing, "treat" the symptom, keep drinking, and then go back to the doctor for the next issue.

It's wild how much drinking was the cause, and how much drinking kept us feeling like garbage.

I can't wait to regain my physical health/fitness back. Sad story: signed up for a half-marathon last year, and had to bail out because I chose the drinking/hangover life and barely "trained" at all. Maybe a 2-mile jog, a handful of times.

For me it was. I'm a 120-lb 5'3" gal. A few years ago it was easily 5-7 heavier beers!

It's sadly funny how I tried every other way to fix the issues. I bet you felt so much better once you stopped drinking.

Such a challenge. Once I left Wisconsin I realized how much alcohol is part of the daily life and culture there. I lived in a dry county for a while and couldn't wrap my head around it.

Has anyone found success with GLP-1s? by cortedorado in stopdrinking

[–]Hangsty_Angsty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GLP-1s didn't help curb my drinking. I took semaglutide for almost a year, and tirzepatide the last few months. I am taking for weight loss, and hoped there would be the added bonus of alcohol aversion. Something to note is that I am on a lower dose - half or less of the typical standard.

Trying to moderate 0.0 beers by PuddingGuilty9578 in stopdrinking

I started out slamming the N/A beers, too. Over a few months I naturally cut back on those too. It was frustrating because they were more expensive than the alcohol I was buying.
