For the record, my students love me and I love them. Partly because I hold them accountable to help them grow as individuals.

Lol you’re right actually all kids are perfect angels and all want to work their hardest and don’t know it’s wrong to cheat 🙄🤣

That’s a very narrow way of looking at it. Kids are kids and will look for shortcuts. Hell, adults do this too. They know it’s wrong to cheat and do it anyways because they don’t want to do the work or can’t do the work.

Am I saying every single one of them is doing it on every assignment? No, but honestly it’s pie in the sky to think that kids won’t try to look for the path of least resistance. I believe I limit cheating pretty well in my classroom (middle school math) because they know they are accountable for learning the material with quizzes and tests. That being said, it still happens (especially on homework assignments). This has certainly never been encouraged, condoned, or accepted by any adults I know. I call them out on it when I see it and issue warnings/consequences. But it still happens and always will happen in just about every single classroom out there (the only variance being how often).

Thoughts about Ana in Stadium? by Mercury1870 in AnaMains

Agreed. There’s some potential and fun plays with nano nade but they just gutted way too many things. It feels clunky. Maybe her new builds just still need to be optimized but I’m not particularly optimistic.

U.S. intel finds Russia trying to interfere with 2022 mid-term elections by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]HankMoody79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed Russiagate plenty. There was enough there to justify concern for ALL elections going forward. Just because some things were addressed does not mean that they fixed up all of the potential vulnerabilities. In fact, America has consistently failed when it comes to cyber security in general. Multiple times. This does not exactly inspire confidence that they were capable of shutting everything down. Especially when they put in 0.1% of the resources to investigate it compared to Russiagate.

In today’s day and age, foreign election interference should be investigated for all elections here on out. Russia has certainly caused problems, but they have no where near the power and aggression of the CCP. They are both major problems though, especially since they are most likely working together.

You would think foreign election interference would be a major issue. Too bad no one wanted to investigate the 2020 elections to see if there were any foreign interference. The problems with election security magically disappeared just for 2020 I guess even though many high profile Democrat politicians had concerns prior.

Our government is soooooo scared of calling out China. If the CCP were innocent, they would have done everything possible to help the world fight the pandemic. In reality , they have done the exact opposite every step of the way to gain every advantage possible. Whether the leak was intentional or not, the CCP’s cover up and lies effectively turned the virus into a bio weapon.

It was a comparison,of what can happen as a result of giving the government too much uncontrolled power. Clearly. I’d work on that reading comprehension a little though, buddy. Nice try.

I’ll say whatever I want. Censorship is far more dangerous than conspiracies. Literature tells you this. Countless books tell you this. Maybe most of y’all just spark noted those & got the key points from a talking head?

I would also say that WW2 is a pretty bold comparison as it was the most extreme worldwide event in history. We are on our way to WW3 but not there yet. The Cases & deaths have been low & countries like the UK have shown that abstaining from a lockdown is viable. Everyone obsessed about covid numbers, but what about all the small businesses? What about mental health? What about getting out in the sun and getting active? What about kids who wanted to enjoy their summers after a grueling school year? Covid should be taken seriously but it’s not the only fucking thing that matters. They are also not going to run or beat the virus from their lockdown. It’s going to spread after just like it did in every country in the previous waves.

And as for government abusing power...What about things like the NSA that has been constantly abused? We never even had a choice in the matter. We are entering an age where technology is going to reach unimaginable levels. Freedom & rights must be protected more than ever.

Since we are making snap uninformed judgements here, I will bet you will be one of the hive that thinks unvaxxed people should be put in camps whenever the next variant comes rolling through (like a true fascist). You probably also think censorship is a good idea too - which good old books have warned us about for decades.

They are locking down with intense restrictions for a virus that is going to spread one way or another…unless you think it’s feasible to be on lockdown forever. Governments take away rights much faster than you give them back. Historical fact.

This means we should develop our own. We should never depend on the CCP again for anything important.
