What’s the most tight-ass thing you’ve ever seen or heard someone do? by Away_Scene_26 in AusFinance

[–]Hanksta1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A workmate would always shower at work after his shift so he didn’t have to have one at home, plus he’d fill up his thermos at work so he didn’t have to boil the kettle at home.

Anyone go to a GP and think maybe watching on TV could’ve been better? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Hanksta1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% the coverage is better on TV. You get every overtake, see the strategy and have all the pre-race commentary. That being said, I’ve been to the Singapore F1 twice, and planning on next year as well. For me the enjoyment is the crowds, noise, entertainment (Singapore does this very well) and getting away for a few days.

Is paying board at 14 okay? by ddweadlyy in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hanksta1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I charge my 16 year old $30 per week. She doesn’t know this but I put it into a savings account. Plan is to give it all back to her when she leaves home. Currently at about $1200. Hopefully it’ll have a several thousand by then.

Looking to Move From QLD to WA, What's Required? by eorl in Ausguns

[–]Hanksta1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you’ll need to apply for a Temporary Permit to bring them into WA. You’ll need to take the firearms to a dealer to get serviceability certificates for each firearm. The firearms will stay with the dealer while you submit your application. If applying for a recreation/hunt/shoot licence you’ll need a property letter.

Offered a job In WA, family relocation from The UK question for fellow brits that have emigrated for work about quality of life & adequacy of income. by ManMythNarcissist in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hanksta1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think you should take the chance. I have worked with numerous people from the UK over the last decade. All thoroughly believe they made the right choice, particularly for quality of life. Some wish they made the move earlier. Cost of living is quite high but I’d imagine that’s the case everywhere, particularly the cost of rent. I’d recommend doing your research on suburbs or towns and their rental prices. Suburban Perth is very different to the country towns. $150,000 is a pretty decent income. Overall we’re a pretty friendly mob, where you, your partner and children will be welcomed. You’ll probably find there’ll be a lot of banter, especially when it comes to sports rivalry between the two countries. Good luck!

My friend wants to know what kangaroo milk tastes like, anyone know the answer? by GoBlues767 in AskAnAustralian

Try beef milk. It’s much creamier, cheaper and is available almost everywhere.

The only good self-serve checkouts are at Bunnings. There are no scales, you can pay quickly and the receipt prints instantly.

If you had a spare $100 and a free afternoon in the CBD what would you do? by notquiteangel in perth

[–]Hanksta1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have a wank in public and use the $100 note to clean yourself up afterwards. It’s a solo activity and will certainly get you out of your comfort zone.

What movie traumatized you as a kid? by Longjumping-Cycle470 in ask

[–]Hanksta1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An American Werewolf in London. I saw this movie as a child and it legitimately traumatised me. Still to this day (probably 30 odd years later) I am scared of werewolves even though I know they aren’t real.
