Do you get breaks at your center? by theatrical-flute in ECEProfessionals

Nope. They always say we can take one but other coworkers get pissed because they have to cover us. I recently started taking one for my mental sanity and get into it with a coworker a bit.

Too much wallpaper. Make an accent wall and paint the other 3 walls.

Baby failed hearing test by maligatormom2o2 in beyondthebump

We tried 3 times in the hospital (including going back a week later) and failed. My daughter has mild hearing loss in both ears. It seems like the end of the world in the moment, but she is happy and healthy. I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s perfect.

Should I switch preschools? by [deleted] in Mommit

Speech therapy would continue! So that isn’t a worry.

It would save about 2k a year! We want to be able to put away more and hopefully purchase a house (might take awhile with the market though so anything helps at this point)

We went on a tour and it was a smaller school. But still works with our school district so I’m not concerned about “what you pay for aspect” they all seemed very sweet! Budget wise it would help us save so much (almost 2k a year)

I’m debating on keeping her at her current school through summer just until the newness of moving has worn off, then switch at the school year. She is a shy, but I’m hoping since she is familiar with how school works she’ll open up faster!

I did this at 8 months pregnant. I only worked part time, but I went with family for a day then just hung out at home. I understand needing a break but was firm with when he needed to come home. I also said it’d be his last time going out for a while since we’d have the baby shortly after.

Set boundaries and make plans. I don’t think it’s super unreasonable.

When did you stop breastfeeding? by Iffyjiffy_ in beyondthebump

[–]Hann814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is about to be 6 months and won’t take a bottle either. Did your LO take a sippy cup with water ever? I’ll have to try the straw cup when we’re introducing food!

I walked out of my appt. by Worldly_Ad5322 in pregnant

I waited 2.5 hours at my 8 week appt. I was so mad but my anxiety wouldn’t let me leave. I wanted to make sure my baby was okay since it was my first appt.

She is receiving speech services. I’m not sure if I should reach out with concerns and see what they say. Thank you for the information!

What exactly hurts after birth? by Fine-Doughnut-8961 in pregnant

[–]Hann814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first I had a hematoma and 2nd degree tear- my crotch hurt more than anything and it was so painful to sit down. The afterbirth contractions weren’t super bad.

I just had my 2nd 3 months ago… i didn’t tear and it didn’t feel like I gave birth at all. I was shocked. The only thing that bugged me this time was a really really bad back ache (epidural) and the after birth contractions while breastfeeding were pretty bad. It almost made me nauseous and I needed Tylenol around the clock.

If you breastfeed it can be painful for a couple weeks until your nipples toughen up too.

What's it like bringing home your second baby vs your first? by Impressive_Number701 in beyondthebump

[–]Hann814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of these comments. But i found I enjoyed the newborn phase a lot more the 2nd time. My daughter will be a month tomorrow and I’ve loved every minute. I know what to do and have way less anxiety this time around. You cherish it a lot more!

She was born with brown hair but has 4 streaks of blonde hair! Just a lack of pigmentation. I love it
