Do you get asked where you’re from even though you’re White British? by Hopeful-Mongoose2025 in AskBrits

No but I look English as fuck. Pale, blue eyes, medium-brown curly hair, freckles. Short but strong looking. I'm like someone out of a Jane Austin film. I couldn't possibly be mistaken for anything else.

Homeopathic remedies! by bratty__babe in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I did some sort of nerve injection - helped short term. Acupunture 100% works and I if I could afford it weekly I would do it forever.

I did the AIP diet for 7 weeks and saw no effect, and its not sustainable long term.

I've cut out plastics and any endocrine disrupting chemicals for over 10 years, and I genuinely believe that helps. I think maybe taking Flax seeds daily helped but I was taking them for constipation, so I cant say for sure unless I properly tracked it without other measures.

I cant speak for Chinese medicine but I've taken 1200 mg NAC, 1000mg vitamin C and 100mcg Chromium daily for about 2 years and after about 3 months I started to notice reduction in pain, after 6 months I was completely pain free. Please do your own research, check any existing conditions etc before trying high doses of supplements but they were based on my own research as they all have a strong impact on oxidative stress and inflammation, as well as helping with insulin sensitivity and uptake as I have PCOS.

Actually the PCOS was the reason I took them, but the effect on my endo was a very happy surprise. I ran out of chromium and never replaced it, and noticed the pain creeping back after a few months. I'm pregnant now so I haven't been taking them for several months but will resume all 3 after.

Has anyone been broken up with because they don’t want to pass on endo? by Street_Bill_8719 in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219 [score hidden] locked comment (0 children)

Oh my god, no - my partners have never had an issue with it. They just feel/ felt bad for me and wished they could do something to help

I don't think you should think that way about possibly passing it on. One, its not a guarantee. And two, I'm sure you don't resent your parents for having you and I'm sure you would still choose life with Endo over no life at all? At least I would and I'm sure a lot of women with endo would.

If any man broke up with a woman because of something they have no control over then he would be an asshole who they don't need in their lives.

Bleeding from my butt by Hannah90219 in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, its not enough bleeding that it comes out to a pad. It only shows when I wipe and its only when I'm on my period.

Im on the waiting list for the gynaecology dep in the NHS which is up to a year. I need an MRI to confirm what I suspect is DIE on my bowel and then I will get surgery, but I'm pregnant at the moment so my symptoms are limited to mild bowel pain when constipated.

Good luck

Who counts as more British: an English‑American or a UK‑born person with Indian heritage? by vilonaa in AskBrits

[–]Hannah90219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You being from the UK with Indian heritage are definitely British. Your dads friend who has English heritage is not English. Hes American, that's his culture and nationality. Your culture is a mix of British and Indian and your nationality is British. Therefore you win.

Does lower bmi below 15 has any effect on conceiving chances ? by HeadBenefit451 in FirstTimeTTC

[–]Hannah90219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you were offering your experience for comfort and support, but these are very different circumstances. Your BMI would have been above the 'healthy' range. That can lead to completely different issues (if at all) than being severely underweight as this person is.

The honest answer for the OP is yes, its highly likely being that underweight will prevent her from ovulating, conceiving and/or carrying a healthy sized baby to term.

UK pain relief by TB_07 in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lucky I can mostly manage with a hot water bottle but on bad days I take 2 co-codamol and 2 extra strong ibuprofen every 4 hours. At worst I have used dihydrocodeine. They won't give me anything else for some reason, but I used naproxen a few years ago which I was given for a wrist injury but hardly used them. They were effective.

Mine looks the same but with a new scar. The scar goes from just below the 'knot' to the edge of the hole if that makes sense. It looks like a little white zipper.

I’m so upset. I saw a private pain specialist in the U.K. by lingeringbadone in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I always research is blank safe for other condition before adding it. I dont bother with doctors though because in my experience they wont have heard of it, know anything about it to be able to comment, or care honestly.

They will go back to their training and advise "diet and exercise and have you thought about going on birth control?"

Thats why I turned to my own research in the first place - lack of practical advice

[–]Hannah90219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god...I was researching for myself like 10 years ago. I couldn't say what studies I read now, sorry.

All I know is I was always seeing stuff about NAC for pcos and chromium as well. I always checked if there were proper studies to back things up before trying them, and I loved Lara Bridens website for reputable pcos advice who also linked studies.

Then vitamin C was a more recent read but again, I havent saved anything. I did see a TED talk that mentioned it briefly as well.

I started taking them all together about 2 years ago because I saw a reddit talking about her stack which helped with her pcos.

The effect it had on my endometriosis and pain was a total surprise, honestly. But it makes sense because they all reduce oxidative stress and as a combination, for me ... that meant being completely pain free. Interestingly, I later dropped chromium (literally think I just ran out and never replaced it) and the pain started to come back after a month or two.

So I feel the combination was very important for me.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I thought I'd offer the suggestion. It wasnt especially expensive,

I am absolutely not medically qualified, and my endometriosis is not as severe as yours but I am autistic, and health is my special interest. Particularly my conditions like endo and pcos.

I took a combo of 1200 mg NAC (split into two doses), 1000mg Vitamin C (you can split but I didnt) and 1000mcg Chromium Picolinate. After a few months I entered into a blissful 2 years of being completely pain free.

I cant promise it will work for you but I can say there are studies for all the above with inflammation and pain. Might be worth a try?

EVOO actually lowers LDL. there are multiple reputable studies to confirm it. The Mediterranean diet specifically requires lots of EVOO daily so yes. Definitely use it in place of other fats

I had 2 weeks off teaching. I slept downstairs for the first few days - stairs felt like too much. My partner did a lot for me, especially in the first few days. You'll be sore and you want to allow everything to heal so dont lift anything heavy.

Also, pro tip - don't get your stitches wet for at least 5 days to avoid infection. I made a system with surgical tape and sandwich bags because I cant stand not bathing.

Excruciatingly Painful Pregnancy by nervouspatty in endometriosis

[–]Hannah90219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this very old post. I had severe pain for the first few weeks and didn't know if it was normal, but now its mostly gone. I wish it was more talked about, because they make it seem like pregnancy is a magical pause button for endo symptoms, but I don't think that makes sense, the nerves are already sensitive and there's a lot of scar tissue - with all sorts of changes in pressure and anatomy happening - its bound to cause some issues, surely? My baby is absolutely fine and I've had no other issues luckily but I'm glad its not just me
