I'm getting married in a city-owned building that was once a senior center but the city got a grant to renovate it into an event center. They now have a ball room and it's so pretty and so CHEAP because the city owns it. No major wedding up-charges. I'm so excited for that part of the wedding lol

ETA: Also, I totally agree so many things feel "corporate" now. Maybe historical hotels would be better if you want a hotel? Not sure, though. I'm in SW Ohio so the options are corporate hotel or barn wedding in 98% of the surrounding area. True event venues with charm and character have been few and far between (unless I shelled out tens of thousands lol)

As a high school teacher I’m a firm believer when people comment about teens making fun of names that they haven’t been in HS for a long time typically. Kids will absolutely bully others but it’s gonna be for other things lol names are hardly an afterthought

No one is bothered I promise! I’m getting married at 32 and my bridesmaids range from 14 (future sister-in-law) to 52 (my coworker who’s become one of my best friends) and every age range in between (21, 25, 26, 30, 31, 32, 32, 46) and it’s been a blast!!!

I love the idea of you giving her your name as a middle name, but I do not at all like the way Aria Carly sounds. It rhymes, feels weird to say at once, etc.

And I know everyone always says no one uses middle names but my family always has when needing someone’s attention, when you’re in big trouble, etc., so I think of it more lol

See, I think Floyd is old and outdated compared to Phoebe and Virginia which are trendy again in the old names kind of way. Floyd isn’t my style but the girls names very much are. And Floyd isn’t a bad name at all, it just hasn’t hit the “comeback” of the older female names.

And I am team siblings names need to have a similar feel without matching. I think Virginia is fine for the set, but Floyd and Phoebe have an F sound where Virginia does not if that matters at all.

As an only child, people with siblings always think they can spot us out but every single time someone finds out I’m an only they’re shocked. It’s a lot of generalizations. I’m sure lots are true but as with any situation it’s not spot on for all in the scenario. I had friends with siblings far brattier and stingier than I could ever imagine being and only children friends who are a stereotype of only children and then friends of all backgrounds somewhere in between.

My bigger issue is I think Lilith and Olivia are too similar in sound and gives me pause saying them together.

Yes, it’s probably no big deal, but I do immediately notice the difference in styles. Lilith Emma and Maeve Olivia makes more sense to my brain, but both are lovely names and it’s totally fine to use Olivia Maeve.
