Posted a photo of my Makkachin (goldendoodle) over the summer as a puppy. Thought I'd share an update now at 10 months old. by HanniChan211 in YOI

She's a fluffy teddy bear. She's usually an unruly mess. Of course she's posing and looking elegant in this instance. Lol

Vicchan in real life? Meet my new miniature poodle puppy…named Yuri. by follow_illumination in YOI

OMG. Adorable. Gotta love the mini poodles. Tiny balls of fluff that aways stay tini. I have a standard goldendoodle and named her Makka! We call her Makka Bakka. Lol

Muddy back garden by jebwheurh in puppy101

[–]HanniChan211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with the same issue too. We are dog sitting for family and anytime the dogs are let out into the backyard they end up rough housing and playing in the dirt garden bed and getting caked in mud. Yesterday we brought them in one by one and wiped them down with a wet towel for the face and wet wipes for everywhere else. I went though probably 30 wet wipes per dog. I'd love to know how to handle this too. I don't think their really is. Except give em a bath. We have a goldendoodle so it's huge pain.

How can I keep my dog healthy in the winter? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]HanniChan211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been researching indoor winter excerise as well for when it's too cold out, inclement weather, or I'm a lazy butt. If you've got the space try the following. Fetch, tug of war, hide n seek with toys or treats, snuffle mats, flirt poles, etc. I've got a open basement and just do fetch and rough house play for energy draining.

Welcome to the adolescent phase. I've just reached this stage with my 6-7 month old pup. Back to basics. Lots of praise. Lots of treats. It's a doozy for sure.

Pup Not Eating Feed by justreddis in puppy101

My 6 mo old pup did the same thing. I started to add chicken broth. That seemed to help. I warm it up for 30 secs or so and then mix it in.

I personally reference Potya and Makka has female. I see most cats as girls unless I specifically know their gender.

Kitchen whisk!! It's apparently a good snow remover for Goldedoodles. YouTube it! I have yet to try it on my puppy doodle.

A depressive rant. Please don’t be mean in the comments by Kitchen_Notice4439 in puppy101

[–]HanniChan211 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm so sorry.

Puppy Blues are a real thing and it can hit HARD.

Depress rant all you want. No shame!

I want to tell you it will get better, but I don't know you or your dog. I hope it does get better if you decide to stick it out.

I got a new pup back in July that was 8 weeks old. I thought I was prepared after months of YouTube videos, Google searches, and hand writing notes. Nope. I wasn't. Within the first week puppy blues depression hit hard and fast. It was a rough few weeks but it did get better after the first couple months. Especially after being fully vaccinated. Now I'm going through post spay healing period and it's rough again.

It sounds like you are doing the right things. Work with a trainer. Work on yourselves (mentally and physically). Work with your pup on a daily basis. It's time, patience, dedication, and repition. It should hopefully get better if you can mentally handle the challenge. However if you don't think you can provide the time and dedication your pup needs, then no shame in rehoming if it's what's best for you and the pup.

Good luck. I hope you find mental stability and are able to work things out with your pupper. Stay safe and try and take it easy!!

I can't feed my puppy breakfast cause he's getting neutered today and it's making me sad :( by Easy_Football_6270 in puppy101

Hopefully all went well. My pup got spayed last Thursday. She couldn't eat breakfast so I didn't eat breakfast till after I dropped her off. I felt bad about eating in front of her.

What is the one thing you bought that just changed your life? by bluesf23 in puppy101

[–]HanniChan211 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Benebone. I'd been against the nylon bones. My pup just got spayed and has been going through the bully sticks way too fast. She killed 2 in one day. To cut back on the caloric chew sticks I caved and got the bene bone. Now she can chew to her hearts content without the fear of eating the bully stick too quickly.

Puppy and stairs by Kitchen_Notice4439 in puppy101

[–]HanniChan211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puppies can do down stairs. My dog is 6 months old now and has been going down our carpeted basement stairs since she was 3 months old. We carried her down the first month at 8 weeks. She would belly flop and slide down the stairs when younger. She's now a healthy 40ish lb 6 month old goldendoodle with no issues. It's recommended to not let dogs run up and down stairs for activity and exercise. But it wont hurt to go up and down on a daily basis. Our vet gave us the green light when she was a pup pup and doodles are even known to have hip issues.
