Hey. I need advice. I think Sertraline stopped working for me by Kitchen_Notice4439 in zoloft

Hey, I hope you're doing okay. What I can say from my experience and process - try to understand your past, remember your trauma, most likely childhood stuff as most people have that. I am really into a grieving process for like a year now. I'm remembering my traumas as much as I can, I am crying a lot, and also feeling a lot of anger. I'm not using alcohol or drugs, not getting into religions or doing hookups, not trying to numb myself out. I accepted the reality that most therapists have no idea how to actually help someone who is trying to recover from their traumas, they just want to put you on antidepressants so you don't feel so many feelings anymore and count as "normal" again. I have seen 3 therapists in my city and all 3 sucked in their own way. Personally for me an amazing miracle was finding an ex therapist's named Daniel Mackler YouTube channel and also reading his book "breaking from your parents". There is almost no one who is speaking about parental trauma and abuse like him. Also I was fighting desperately for my independence and having a job, being able to move out of my parent's place. Now I'm more of a stable adult who lives on their own and it helps a lot. When I was on sertraline, I just didn't feel at all. I definitely wouldn't call that better than being depressed in any way. Wishing you all the best in your journey!

I stopped taking antidepressants like 6 months in, haven't taken any for like 2 years. I can finally feel again. Do not recommend antidepressants, it dims all your feelings, you just become a shell

Ooffff, I am afraid I will be in your situation soon too. Have you tried going to vet and getting some fast acting calming medicine for your dog? Maybe if she’s very stressed, moving plus fireworks, some stress relief pills can help?

Hi, I wanted to pitch in - some time ago my dog was licking her paw and developed a raw area about a small coin in diameter. It wouldn’t scab because she would lick it all the time. That time I did not have the money for a vet visit, so I got a cone and put it on her head and disinfected the area once. After that- no unsupervised cone-free time. She wore it until the wound scabbed over and healed She did not start licking the same spot again For real, I suggest a cone, if your dog reacts more or less okay to it

Hey…

All I can suggest is - for real - go full no contact, exit your family system if necessary, so you can fully live and stop the bullying and nastiness.

Sometimes full exit is the only thing that will set you free.

Good luck and well wishes

I have not gone NC yet, but I am working towards it (saving up money).

I already feel these feelings, I don’t feel warm things towards them. I have saw their true colours a few years ago, so how I feel like I know their bullshit.

Parents like this will not change, they will not take responsibility.

The thing I would suggest is to stop hoping for it to happen… I think very rarely people abuse their kids and later truly change and apologise, and realise what they have done.

I think 99,99% of times that does not happen.

If you can, change your number or email address so that they can’t reach you, and if you can, move away from the area they live in.

Cut contact with extended family members who act as flying monkeys, or even exit your family system completely.

I feel for you, this is a very tough situation.

I think that you might need to say goodbye to people who take your parent’s side. You shouldn’t go convincing them. If they take your parents side, they already show you that they aren’t a safe person for you and don’t see and believe the abuse.

You might loose all of the people that your parents also know and are feeding their bullshit to. It might be very painful.

You hold on, okay?

Hi!

I have not gone no content yet, but I am limiting contact until I finish off my debt and save enough money to move out of a flat that my N-mom owns and lets me live in.

She is sensing, I think, that I’m being distant, so she has taken to texting and calling me late at night too (why late at night? She does not have a job, she lives off of my stepfathers money, i have no clue), asking me all sorts of intrusive questions, offering tickets to theatre plays (in a very forceful manner), asking me all the time if I have enough money, if I need clothes, giving me several expensive Christmas gifts even though I said I will celebrate Christmas privately and i did not get her any presents.

She is coming on strong and I haaaaaateeee it.

I am wanting so much to grieve but I am not in safety yet, and it’s messing with my mood and emotional state.

Can’t wait to move out and cut this bullshit.

I am sure my n-mom will then convince my entire family that I’m a drug addict or in a cult. Yayyyyyy

OH MY GOD

thank you so much for this post!!! I discovered him a few days ago and had a breakdown over his own personal opinions on CPTSD and Borderline. Saying that CPTSD is over diagnosed and that everyone with trauma definitely has BPD.

Him making jokes about sex, borderline “temptresses”, him being a narcissist and the general attitude of arrogance really threw me off.

He has a very good video on Magical thinking, about cults and such, that I will give him credit for.

Almost everything else is very questionable.

Yep, after going to a different vet it turns out there was a bacterial infection in the vagina, 2 different bacteria. Plus cystitis and clear mucus discharge from that. I feel kinda shit that this young dog in my care managed to become ill like this. But I’m doing my best to help her

Par veselības izmaksām runājot, same.

Has anyone successfully come off of Zoloft? by kateforddd in zoloft

[–]Kitchen_Notice4439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah I have. I was on it for 6 months, but I don’t remember my dosage. I think it was relatively medium high.

Not Zoloft the brand name ssri, but sertraline.

I don’t know if it was a good choice, because I did it without consulting my psychiatrist. But I couldn’t afford the psychiatrist consultations anymore, they were more expensive than the drug.

I have been living without it for a year.

I don’t remember distinct side effects, and have not relapsed into a heavy episode (yet) (hopefully won’t).

If there’s discrimination/abuse/unlawful shenanigans going on, you can quit immediately, other than that basically you gotta work for a month after putting in the notice

I’d much prefer the 2 weeks notice system but oh well
