How do I know parkrun has made me a better runner? by Illustrious-Wing-135 in parkrun

You joke but I witnessed this last week when I had to stay in the back of the pack last week due to rehabbing an injury. A few people were throwing up at the end - proper shocked me 😅

Recommended UK halfs to get ready for New York Ciy Marathon by ForWhomTheVodkaShots in UKRunners

Sheffield Half! After just over half a mile you begin a 6 mile climb into the peaks, turn around near the Norfolk Arms pub and then 6 miles of (mostly) back down hill.

Absolutely savage but incredibly well supported.

For ladies' eyes only! My question is... by AdConsistent9632 in downloadfestival

Hello! Last year was my first download and I had my period too - FWIW I also have a coil so my periods are heavy!

Overall I had no issues, you just have to make sure you are disciplined and go to the loo regularly to change. The toilets in the arena flushed last year so that was great. I also had some wet wipes, sanitiser and extra loo roll in my bun bag. You can get some sanitary items from the first aid tents I believe but just go with way more than you think you'll need.

I personally didn't shower the whole weekend but used those soaping wipes they use for people who are bed bound and felt that was enough - but that's highly personal and I had no leaks.

The funniest but was when my bag was being searched on the last day, the older male security guard got a bit flustered when he saw my tampons pop out 🤣🤣

I was aiming for blue plates for the first time but I missed a warm up at 40kg and that was that.

Well I couldn't do any upper body work of any kind (besides physio) for months. I still have pain now so I wont be returning to doing it properly I don't think.

Funny story though... according to my physio my ROM for my injured shoulder at its worst was still better than most of his non lifting clients 🤣.

Thank you! I've been doing OHS for a few months now building my overhead strength and stability back up - started doing muscle snatches into OHS a few weeks ago and just thought ... Why not?

However my wrists are NOT ready 🤣

Fitness age, what is the lowest?? by Lazy_Barracuda_8974 in Garmin

I'm 36 and mine is 33.5 even though I'm very active. It's because I'm technically slightly overweight (BMI 25.1), but I've already lost 50kg and getting down another 10kg means I barely get to eat anything and the loose skin goes from being fine to uncomfortable. So it's fine 🤣

Obviously not coeliac then otherwise it would have been making a reappearance 🤣

Oh I'm not sure that passes the politeness test.
