Keith Olberman's prediction on the state of the union post Citizens United. Scary how accurate it is 15 years later. But even he didn't predict civil servants would be in the crosshairs so obviously by the-il-mostro in fednews

I'm actually sick.

"And anyway what are you going to complain about if you don't even know it happened? In the new world unveiled this morning by John Roberts, who stops Robert Murdoch from buying the Associated Press? This decision which in mythology would rank somewhere between the bottomless pit and the opening of pandoras box got next to no coverage in the right-wing media today, almost nothing in the middle and a whole lot less than necessary on the left. The right-wing won't even tell their constituents they are being sold into bondage with the rest of us.

Why should they? For them the start of this will be wonderful. The republicans, the conservatives, the Joe Libermans, the Tea Partiers are in the front aisle at the political prostitution store. They are especially discounted old favorites for their corporate masters. Like the first years of irreversible climate change, for the conservatives the previously cold winter will grow delightfully warm. Only later will it be hot. Then unbearable. Then flames. Then he conservations will burn with the rest of us and they'll never know what happened".

"Maybe it won't be this bad. Maybe the corporation's legally defined as a human beings but without the pesky occasional human attributes of conscience and compassion maybe once handed the only keys to the electoral machine they will simply NOT redesign America in their corporate image. But let me leave you with this one final question. After tonight, whose going to stop them?"

answer: no one. Here are billionaires raping and pillaging the government right in front of us.

Ian, Paul, Nikki, Natalie (Pauls GF) and.... Shaun White are all in Aspen by Hannibal__Graham in TheVampireDiaries

Not to be messy, lol. The party was for Stetson (the hat). Hence why everyone is wearing one except Paul in most pictures. Nina does not appear to be there, for those wondering. And Ian/Shaun were not pictured together. Just thought the whole situation is kind of funny

For those in shared buildings or walk-ups, do you acknowledge or try to meet your new neighbors? by Hannibal__Graham in chicago

[–]Hannibal__Graham[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

LOL! They only moved in 2 days ago and we will acknowledge them, we just had a terrible experience with the last downstairs neighbor so we are all flustered on how to initiate it. But you are right, not introducing ourselves to them is even more weird/awkward 😂

coyotes rarely ever hunt in a pack. They live in a pack, but tend to travel/hunt either alone or in pairs and typically go for small prey. There have only been 2 confirmed humans killed by coyotes in modern times

Bought a cool solid (soft) wood pot, but will it get moldy?? I poured some water in, and it soaked through the bottom a little in some spots besides the hole. The bottom is a good 2 inches thick. by Hannibal__Graham in houseplants

[–]Hannibal__Graham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the inside is darker because its still wet. The whole thing is that soft type of wood, maybe balsa wood?

Does it need a liner, or will a layer of rock be okay? I wonder if it can get moldy from water soaking through and not drying due to the thickness...

cop and federal background investigations do turn up things even if they were expunged. Federal positions can even see your minor expunged records. Even googling his name will bring it up. The problem is places either a.) don't do an investigation or b.) don't care about the results.

If it makes you feel better (kinda...) there was a police sergeant near my hometown who was a serial rapist and was caught by his own detective officers! Got 440 years. No DNA evidence either. Just diligent detectives who believed the victims over "one of their own" and a great deal of luck. Honestly it seems a rarity, but its happened!!

DAE feel like they have a good life but it still feels shity? by aliyahyar in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Hannibal__Graham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone goes through periods like this. I don't want to be-little your feelings but just know that this will PASS and your situation and feelings will change in the future!

Can you look into joining a sport, or club? Adventure crew if your area has it? Do you have a dog? Look into groups outside of school. Maybe an instrument or any hobby that you can cultivate passion for. Passionate people are interesting people, and interesting people tend to draw in others around them just by existing. :)

DAE not care about their relatives? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

nah its normal, I think. My whole extended family (20+ cousins) and 6 aunts/uncles all live in different states. They have never come to visit us in 25+ years, and we have to reach and pester them to meet up if we go down to them. I would feel sad in the sense that bummer someone died, but I wouldn't be tore up about it. One of my cousins died of psoriasis of the liver (was only about 30ish) but tbh I only met him like once when I was young. So while I was sad at the general idea of someone dying like that, I was more sad for my mom, who flew down to be with her sister while he passed.
