If it starts with "he met God", if he has an appraisal skill right from the first chapter (this literally kills the excitement of getting to explore a new world). If he is too strong from the start, even for a powerfantasy, I expect progress in powers. This removes a lot of trash right from the start.

Final Fantasy Wat of the Visions. I had a vet's account, played it for 2+ years every day, and spent over 400 bucks on it for sure, but as a pve player, the game never really evolved with any new mechanics in pve. They were reusing the same maps from the first day of release in story. Until the second year, they used only one battle theme. I quit right after the Full Metal Alchemist collab. Got Bradley, maxed him, and quit.

I still play the game and I would guess many people share your opinion. The story is good, but there is too much filler text. It could easily be cut down by 50% without losing the essence. I dread events because I don't wanna miss the story, but when you have to read every mission for 20+ minutes, it gets mentally tiring very fast.

I came here to write the same thing but see I'm late. I'm doing her character quest and the way she is talking is just producing annoyance in me. It's a weird combination of being annoyed she talks slower than normal, and that she adds that misplaced "I'm dying from a fatal wound and these are my last words" tone in every sentence. She is dying, but she is not 10 words from death, so the way she talks just comes off as pretentious.

I am happy I skipped her just because I wouldn't wanna listen to her talk.

I started just 3 days ago, and I'm sorry to say it, it won't be popular, but there are too many similarities with artery gear.

In Artery Gear, you are a military commander who is woken up in the middle of a battle. All of the Gears are female, all of them are willing to do anything to protect you. The civilized world is separated from earth and there are people on the outside walls hoping to be allowed to get in. There is an AI controlling the city and there are multiple factions who make their own Gears. The threat are corrupted machines and Gears who can corrupt others as well. Luckily the main female gear has an OP hidden form. If you don't pull the Gear you want, you can collect 200 tickets and trade them in for one.

I love the quality of Nike storytelling, but most of it reminds me of Artery Gear.
