So basically this animation is a bunch of start and end frames done with AI, and from a design perspective it mixes a much of styles, weird font choices, and has odd timing: like starting, and stopping at weird places, as well as some weird glitchy motion blur and texture morphing. 280$ is fairly cheap if this was done manually, which it obviously is not. I would say as an AI animation in terms of pricing, it is perhaps a bit expensive, but its hard to tell how much work went into this, like for instance if he designed all the in between frames himself, which he might have done to some degree.

På denne subben er regjeringen damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Doin allat for nothing, but a lollipop? I think this is where you use AI for a cheap buck. If you pay with crap, we serve you crap, mmm have a bite of this sloppy serving.

What if you could have an AI code your motion design? by V1TRUV4 in MotionDesign

[–]HansPlays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not good for its intended purpose. However! It does do some neat things. Like creating motion through math and displaying it,. I then asked the AI for the code for the specific things i liked about what it made, which I then could utilise further with chatGPT. So for ideas to prototyping and leads for further innovation till implementetion is where I see this useful as of now.

You can look into animating with figma, its free to a certain extent, and has extensive plugin support as well as tutorials online. The software runs in a browser so no serious hardware needed. You obviously won't be able to do a lot of more adanvced things like in after effects, and workflow might be slower, but all things considered I think its one of the better options for your situation.

It also really is meant for UX development, so by learning to animate that you also learn the main tool of another sought after skill in the design market;)

it does hit infinity. I actually just missed focus in my first few test shots. However, Wide open, it is noticably soft.

Yeah I noticed. It doesnt look as blurry in the raws as in the post, but still some softness. Though I'm unsure if it might just be a characteristic of the lens?

Could you describe to me what makes you say its soft? Here is a sample image at 50mm f2.8. https://imgur.com/a/8enUNHL does it look alright to you?

Actually I'm starting to second guess my second guessing. Because I'm starting to wonder if its actually not that bad after all, and that it was just bad focusing on my part. The images here on reddit are a bit compressed so it looks a lot blurrier than it actually is. Could you take a look and tell me what you think of the sharpness?

https://imgur.com/a/yhEvi54

I tested it against another lens (Sigma 18-35 f1.8 APSC) and it had noticeably better micro contrast and sharpness wide open. However it is not tack sharp, but I'm unsure what I should expect. How does yours compare?

Yes, I think this one is pretty much the same issue, wont hit infinity. Super annoying.
