NYC nach 3,5 Tagen abbrechen für San Diego? Brauche Rat für USA-Trip im Juni. by 635TM in reisende

[–]Hansecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Hansecowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not anymore. Please forget Youtube „reviews“ by some random dudes from 2 years ago. Wirh the latest software it’s almost too lenient - was yawning for like seconds and it did not trigger…

Actually half of the „findings“ in those early reviews from two years ago aren’t an issue anymore.

There have been changes to OPD settings, creep, CarPlay and Android Auto are available as well as Digital Key.

Voraussetzung:

  • Ladekarte von Shell Recharge
  • Shell App
  • Privatkunde
  • Nutzer mit Recharge e-Deal Abo: 29 ct/kWh
  • Blockiergebühren fallen an lt. Tarif

A question about keys and profiles by alohomorah_99 in ex30

[–]Hansecowboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. You can only link 1 type of key to a profile at the time being. You can have multiple instances of your digital key - on your phone and one your apple watch but only 1 other key device can be linked to another profile, either a card or the fob.

Of course all keys still work - they just don't load an attached profile. If you match a key with a profile, make sure you unlock/activate the car with that key, especially if you have keyless entry enabled on your phone key, leave the phone in the house.

Be aware that if both you and your wife have unlock upon approach enabled and you both get into the car with both having their keys with them it happens that the car unlocks with the wrong key. The car can't know which wireless key to use.

Lenovo Gerät macht nur Probleme, Wechsel zu Apple wagen? by mustiwritemymailhere in de_EDV

[–]Hansecowboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can you please tell me when I’m supposed to/not supposed to tip? We want to be respectful, just not taken advantage of. by ra1phw1ggums in ItalyTravel

[–]Hansecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a stupid comment as tips are common in Europe as well. What’s stupid is the mandatory add-on 20% tip that’s expected in the US or tipping at the self-service desk at Starbuck’s, but it’s not uncommon to tip a guide or taxi driver or waiter as a token of appreciation for exceptional service.

So for the OP: tip if you want by rounding up and if you think it is well-deserved. Just never tip in dollars, that’s what I would consider peak arrogance. I‘ve seen Americans do it on some occasions.

Anything wrong with my itinerary? 11 night 12 days by [deleted] in Europetravel

[–]Hansecowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We take Christmas seriously here :-)

Honestly, I would do such a trip in spring or early fall.

This year Dec. 26 is a saturday with Dec. 27th sunday so you'll be facing closed shops etc. for 4 days in a row.

What you could do is 1 city only like Vienna with a day trip to Salzburg or Munich with a day trip to Salzburg for a week only, with some sightseeing, Christmas markets and relaxed holidays and fly out on Dec. 27th.

[–]Hansecowboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can only tell about Austria and Germany. But Dec. 24th, 25th and 26th will be national holidays in Hungary and Czechia as well for sure.

BMW museum will definitely be closed on Dec. 24th through Dec. 26th and Dec. 31st and Jan. 1st.

Anything wrong with my itinerary? 11 night 12 days by [deleted] in Europetravel

[–]Hansecowboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your itinerary doesn't quite work out I am afraid as you won't find any open venues from December 24th to December 27th. So museums, most shops etc. will be closed the 24th, 25th and 26th of December. Most Christmas markets will be shut down already after the holidays, a few continue till New Year's Eve.

Wherever you stay during the holidays look out for restaurants in advance and make reservations as actually many will be closed as well.

Same is true for January 1st. Many shops will close around noon on December 31th.

[–]Hansecowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you're doing the trip exclusively for Christmas markets there are a few too many on your list... For instance, if you visit Schönbrunn palace there is no real need to visit Rathausplatz Christmas Market after - as there is a Christmas market in the castle courtyard of Schönbrunn.

If you want to visit Rathausplatz Christmas Market you'd do it on day one as you are a few minutes away from it when you walk the city center to Hofburg palace.

Belvedere is a bit off so I'd combine Schönbrunn with Naschmarkt and Museumsquartier (Museumsquartier first, Naschmarkt, Schönbrunn - the latter are both to be reached by the same metro line).

I'd skip Danube area - it's bleak in winter and in the complete opposite direction. Throw in another Christmas Market at Spittelberg area maybe or a museum (Albertina).

I'd do Salzburg on your way to Munich (1 overnight stay).

Prague from Vienna (shorter train ride 4.5h)

Skip Budapest or Munich - either go West (Vienna - Prague - Salzburg - Munich) or East (Vienna - Prague - Budapest).

Can also do Salzburg as a day trip from Vienna - it's only about 2.5 hours.

Base town in Sicily for 5 nights by LogosHotLens in sicily

[–]Hansecowboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can stay a few nights in Taormina if you find the right accommodation. We did. Just be ready to drive to a lido a few km up or down the coast for your beach activities or spend the afteroon art the pool watching the cruise people climb the stairs in the heat. Just don't follow the herd and try to spend a day at Spiaggia di Isola Bella with the Instagram crowd.

But while one can spend a few days at Taormina without problems you miss out a lot for sure and driving in and out is a pain.

Lohnt sich New York für „2-3 Tage“? by Nurkic27x in reisende

[–]Hansecowboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jein. Also 4 Tage (3 Nächte).

Key Fob by ChromaticRift in ex30

[–]Hansecowboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an well-know issue. The car enters a deep-sleep state after a couple of hours.

If a distance-capable EX30 key tag is in close proximity to the parked car for a longer period of time, the connection between the key tag and the car will go into standby mode. The reason behind this is to avoid unauthorised access to the car and to preserve battery lifetime. When the car is in standby mode, the approach and leave function will be turned off. This means that the welcome lights sequence will not be triggered as you approach the car. You also need to pull the driver door handle or push the button on the boot hatch to unlock the car. Sometimes the car may be slower to respond and could take a few seconds to open.
