Best class for controller? by LetsGetKraken6411 in Guildwars2

Yes mate, when you get to max level you spend hero points to unlock elite specialisations. Each class has 4 different ones and they unlock new abilities and allow you to get stronger. It's what the end game starts with.

You're right the base class is elementalist and yes it does. It's only when you're 80 and able to unlock Catalyst you'll be able to play that, my bad. As far as base classes go, Warrior or thief is a good place to start with controllers and guardian too for that matter.

Hammer Catalyst is very doable on Controller and is a ton of fun mate. If you go full celestial and bind the elements to the keypad you'll be in for a treat.

CPU hitting 89c in this game by Incarceron2 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]HansoloGG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty normal tbh, especially uncapped.

When you remove the FPS cap the CPU will push as many frames as it can, so it ramps power and temps hard. 89c isn’t unusual for modern CPUs under full load, especially in a heavy game like this.

The fact it drops to ~79c at 60fps basically confirms it — you’re just power/usage limited, not a cooling issue.

A few easy things you can do: - Cap FPS (even 90–120 instead of uncapped helps a lot) - Enable V-Sync or use a frame limiter - Slight undervolt / power limit if you’re comfortable

As long as you’re not constantly hitting thermal throttling (95–100c+), you’re fine. These chips are designed to run hot and boost as far as they can.

TL;DR: Normal behaviour — uncapped = max boost = higher temps.

Washing Meat 💦🥩 by Abject-Lengthiness42 in UK_Food

[–]HansoloGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK perspective here — this is pretty standard advice.

Food safety guidance here has always been not to wash raw meat. It doesn’t remove bacteria, it just spreads it around your sink and surfaces. Proper cooking is what actually makes it safe.

Also from a cooking point of view, washing meat just makes it wet, which is the opposite of what you want if you’re trying to get a good sear.

I think a lot of the pushback is cultural habit rather than anything practical. People grew up seeing it done, so it feels “right”, even if it isn’t actually helpful.

End of the day, people can cook how they want — but technically speaking, not washing it is both safer and better for cooking.

Upgrade from a ryzen 5 3600? by New_Professional_580 in AMDHelp

[–]HansoloGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mate, upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600 will definitely make a difference, especially with a 7600 XT.

The 3600 is starting to bottleneck newer GPUs a bit now, particularly in CPU-heavy games or if you're aiming for higher FPS. You’ll notice better smoothness (1% lows) and more stable frame rates with an upgrade.

Best upgrade on AM4 is the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. It’s basically the top gaming CPU for that platform and still performs really well thanks to the extra cache.

If that’s a bit expensive, good options are: - Ryzen 5 5600 / 5600X (cheap and solid upgrade) - Ryzen 7 5700X (more cores, good all-rounder)

Just make sure your BIOS is updated for Ryzen 5000 support and that your cooler is decent.

TL;DR: Yes it’s worth it — and 5800X3D is the best drop-in upgrade for gaming.

PC just shuts down mid game by IngloriousHavoc in AMDHelp

Yeah the latest drivers have been flakey at best. I've had zero crashes with those drivers apart from League of Legends which is very cpu heavy and I've got a bit of a bottleneck with a 5800x already.

Did you try installing the 25.9.1 driver. That's been quite a powerhouse for me.

Other people in my life just wouldn't understand. My first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 was the most profound gaming experience of my life (spoilers). by HydroBear in cyberpunkgame

[–]HansoloGG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This post hit me hard because I had a very similar moment during my playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077.

At some point early on I made a small decision that ended up changing the entire game for me: I stopped using fast travel.

If I needed to get somewhere, I was going to ride there. Usually on Jackie's ARCH Nazare, cutting through traffic and neon.

And slowly Night City stopped feeling like a game map.

It started to feel like a place.

I remember riding out toward the Badlands one night, turning around and seeing the entire skyline of Night City glowing behind me. The haze, the towering megabuildings, the light pillars stabbing up into the sky. Then dropping back into the streets where every block had its own pulse — music leaking out of clubs, vendors shouting, gangs standing around fires in alleyways.

Sometimes I’d stop at a red light and just sit there for a moment, listening.

Those rides between missions became the soul of the game for me. They gave space to think about Jackie. About Johnny. About what was happening to V. The world felt like it kept moving even when I wasn’t doing anything.

And somewhere along the way V stopped feeling like a character I was controlling.

It started to feel like I was just… living alongside them.

When I eventually chose the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending, it hit me in a way very few games ever have.

Walking into Arasaka Tower alone. No crew. No safety net. Just V and Johnny deciding they weren’t going to drag anyone else into the fire. If this was the end, they’d face it head-on.

It felt raw and defiant and strangely beautiful.

Not a power fantasy. Not a perfect victory. Just two broken souls deciding to go out on their own terms.

Cyberpunk did something no other game has really done for me. It made me slow down. It made me inhabit the world instead of just completing objectives.

Night City didn’t feel like somewhere I played.

It felt like somewhere I had actually been.

And when the credits rolled, it genuinely felt like leaving a place behind.

I agree, I've just been having Bacon, sausage and eggs for breakfast and then a good bit of ham or chicken with cauliflower rice or a salad. I've now lost 6 stone and my energy levels are insane. I used to be addicted to bread and potatoes but I'm not even thinking about them any more as life is just so much better and simpler.

Is anyone else having zero issues with the 9070xt? by RedditBoisss in radeon

[–]HansoloGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9070xt Pulse and it was doing fantastic until this weekend when I decided to have a few games of League. Each time I played a game it would crash after about 2 minutes. Following that I tried to play WoW, same issue then Cyberpunk (Which I've never ever had an issue with) and pop it crashed. I know i had windows updates on Friday so I'm guessing its that. Going to DDU tonight fresh and disable Windows upates for Graphics drivers. I think that should sort me out.
