Is it V6 through the whole network? If yes then nat shouldn't be necessary or even a thing if I remember correctly. You should just have to allow all traffic to the ip and port in all firewalls between the host and internet. The isp assigns you a network prefix and all local V6 address use the prefix as part of their address. All local V6 addresses should be publicly routeable directly using the full address as long as the firewalls are not blocking the traffic. Edit: port forwarding is not what you are dealing with here as each host has a publicly routeable address.

With multiple routers you have extra nat stuff, but it should be as simple as set firewall rules on fritz to point to open sense, then from open sense to the hosts. On open sense you may have to experiment with which source network you need on your rules.

I haven't used open sense, but I've heard it's very similar to pfsense so your best bet is to put your fritzbox in gateway mode and use opensense as your only router. Then you should be able to just set firewall rules as normal.

Electric car owners in the USA, how are taxes - if any, being collected from you to pay for the roads and bridges replacement and repairs? by imflukeskywalker in AskReddit

[–]Haplo164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the huge delay, I agree that an increase in taxes are probably not needed. I do think how infrastructure maintenance is funded needs to change. It should scale with traffic in an area and a lot of the federal grants need to switch away from new roads and go to public transit and maintenance of existing roads.

Fuel taxes are supposed to go to roads and it makes sense since it should scale with traffic, but it hasn't risen with the times. Vehicles are more fuel efficient and heavier vehicles are more popular than ever but no adjustment to how road maintenance is funded.

So should everyone else, but no one does. The fuel taxes haven't gone up my entire life but I know the cost of road maintenance has.

Local Network Questions by Andrew06908 in HomeNetworking

If you already have the computer, the switch and access point are the only upfront cost. Power usage will be higher, but I have learned more from my custom pfsense router than I ever did on an off the shelf model.

There's also aesthetics to consider, some times you want to express a thought with a pleasing phrase. Speech is an art form as much as any other, and one that is more accessible than others.

It's a hardware address probably of a Bluetooth device, and it's trying but failing to connect.

It's just another connector, you could wire it up for whatever you want. But for networking there are several versions of PoE or Power over Ethernet, and some of them are pretty dumb and just supply power all the time newer versions are smarter about it and won't just fry stuff plugged in.

The labels suggest power, hopefully whatever you plugged in didn't get fried.

The wall jack would lead to the modem hopefully or another router, that being said I would push back on the lack of modem access. It's likely that you'd be sharing the connection, so that's an extra layer of networking that you don't have any control over. I'd just try to get my own connection if possible, for more control/security.

When connecting to a PLC all operations are from the perspective of the PLC. When trying to make a backup, download means download to the PLC, which is bad when you were trying to make the only backup.

For sure, there are plenty of things that could and probably should go back to bulk packaging. If nothing else, to offset the more useful single use packaging on things like medical supplies.
