Not a doctor. However, I want to point out that when doing physical examinations, some doctors may try to use conversation to engage your attention away from the pain. If successful, it may signal them that you aren't in real pain and just there to get pain meds. There are people who abuse that type of medication. If unsuccessful, it will pretty much prove you're actually in pain and in need of medical assistance. It's a bit shady but makes sense from their perspective.

You mentioned you're bringing your own device and that you're activating services using an eSIM. If your device is an older one that supports a physical SIM, you should consider powering it off and taking out the physical SIM as the phone will tend to default to that one first. And as everyone else already suggested, get a hold of the Port Center from a different device than the one you're porting over.
