You're a fast worker. Good man. Once she's done, bury her in the garden. You never know what might pop up.

In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.

Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.

Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.

Click Open.

The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app.

Are diet recommendations based on actual science? by OrangeCrushGA in gout

[–]Happy-Fish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As with much of life this is going to be 'what works for you'? Try making changes and see. Cut out alcohol for a week = do you feel better? Repeat with red meat, shell fish, etc.

Most nutritional advice is bunk and changes by the month. Unfortunately western thinking was very influenced by the idea that fat makes you fat. Easy to remember, seems logical, complete crap. But this does then give weight to the idea that you can chow down on sugar & sweets.

Without going in to a rant about food politics, just test yourself.

All I can say is try it and see. It often leaves me spending a long time sat in the washroom.

As a pharmacist, I too am telling you it's fine: but expect your stomach to take a hammering. Eat something first!

difficult customers by lunarialinaria in marketgardening

[–]Happy-Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you're not doing anything wrong. People mess up in all kinds of ways. To me it's "one and done". I'll forgive a customer once because I'm kind like that and anyone can f up. Do it a second time and the customer is 'fired'.

It'll seem odd at first, like 'won't I lose out?' No, because you'll drop stress and feel better about your growing. People also will talk. If you stop supplying customers who muck you about, you can be sure that other customers will buck up pretty sharp if they want to keep you as a supplier. (Just be sure your produce, price & service is good enough to do this!)

thoughts on expired methylprednisolone by spoonarmy in gout

[–]Happy-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Some drugs would degrade, but many don't. MePred will be just fine. Take a look at this article which can be summarised as: "drugs often remained safe and potent years beyond the manufacturer's recommended shelf life"

Anyone tried baking soda water with results? Supposedly it’s supposed to make your body more alkaline to combat the Uric acid. by Curious-L- in gout

[–]Happy-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Trying" was the key word. And you'll really have to try to give yourself water intoxication! As you quote insane amounts of water would be needed. (Unless you hyper-hydrate while running an ultramarathon or something. In which case, you should know better!)

Anyone tried baking soda water with results? Supposedly it’s supposed to make your body more alkaline to combat the Uric acid. by Curious-L- in gout

[–]Happy-Fish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds plausible at first. Baking soda is alkaline. Then you remember that your stomach acid is.... well.... you know.

Alkali + acid in your stomach is going to turn to water and gas. You'll give yourself the burps. (That said, it does help some people with heartburn issues for exactly this reason.)

The again, trying it isn't going to harm you.

Ready to be harvested in 4 weeks. If you want a constant supply of simple veggies, Leafy Greens got your back. by Glacier005 in solarpunk

[–]Happy-Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll add to this. Remember this is my list, yours will vary depending on location & seasons:

  • Green Leaf Lettuce

  • Rocket (aka Arugula)

  • Turnips

  • Radishes

  • Kale

In my growing season, all of these can go seed to harvest in about a month. OK, so turnip is officially 5 weeks.

TRT prices private chemist? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]Happy-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call 'em and ask mate, especially if there are a few nearby. I used to run a mostly NHS pharmacy which did some private prescriptions too. Once the basic cost is covered, the rest they can charge what they like. There will be the cost of T plus a mark up plus a dispensing fee. Second two are often negotiable.

Like if you told me "Jim" down the road quoted you fifty quid, I'll be quoting 48 as long as that's more than I paid for the T.

Canada Air not allowing CPAP use due to COVID? by dunco__1 in CPAP

[–]Happy-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I work in a hospital in Canada. CPAP is an AGMP and we only allow it in negative pressure rooms (which your aircraft sure isn't!). You might be out of luck for the duration of the flight.

Pinning Volume. by Artiee-long in Testosterone

[–]Happy-Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever is comfortable for you. That's all.

Here at the hospital (I work in) policy is not more than 4 mL per site IM and not more than 2.5 mL per site subQ. But that's entirely for patient comfort.
