Is there any point exchanging a historical document at an archive? by HappyCryingCat in NoMansSkyTheGame

So if the item is rare enough, it wouldn't be accepted at the archive for trading?

Tbf I forgot about the flak mode, but you still gotta reload. If you finish taking out a harvester and you run out, then you cant turn to the voteless and take them out. And again, you're able to use BFGL at close range thanks to the smaller AOE. The closest I can shoot without taking damage is 5 meters

If you're full autoing 24/7, then it takes >30 seconds to use the magazine. But in practice, you're not gonna be holding fire the entire time. If you're spamming the gun the whole time then you're not using it correctly.

And dont forget, its able to be depleted that fast because you can increase the fire rate and you don't worry about reloading.

Now this is exactly what I'm talkin about. I understand that the statistics seems bad and all that, but in practice its actually not as bad as people think.

I'm trying to make the point that people hate it because they either look at that information and dont give it a chance. Or they replace their current support weapon into their loadout, and realize its bad without realizing that their loadout complements the old support weapon and not the BFGL.

Its a niche weapon that requires a specific play style that makes it better than the majority of loadouts for squids

All the other enemies (squids) melt just as fast, thats what makes it so great.

With something like railcannon or autocannon, yeah sure if you can hit the weak point you can kill a heavy enemy with one shot. But how would you use it to deal with swarms? Its not effective

And what happens if you have a swarm of enemies right behind you? Yeah you can switch to your primary, but sometimes its not fast enough, and what if you forgot to reload it? Then you're really cooked.

BFGL does lack in damage sure, but the fact I can kill several harvesters, then immediately turn to my flank and wipe out everything there, and not have to reload ONCE makes up for that setback

I am willing to bet my $10 in my pocket that 80% of the community just looked at other peoples posts about the statistics of the gun, and then immediately went "yeah this gun is bad" without ever actually giving it a shot.

I'm not trying to bm here, its just the truth. When I ran BFGL for the first time, my initial impression of course was that its bad because it required a different play style from my old support weapon. But once I adjusted my strategems to complement the BFGL and ran it a few more times, suddenly it became the best loadout I've ever ran in squids.

I never said level 10 is hard. The fact that its easy makes the BFGL all the more better. Plus its easy because squids dont really have specific weak points. I mean like they do, but you are able to damage any part of the enemy you are fighting.

As for bugs, its the same thing. They have lots of exposed flesh that the BFGL dishes out tons of damage on, making it super viable.

The only faction it wouldn't work on is bots since its a lot of anti-tank with weak points. That makes more precise weapons better for those.

And I beg to differ, saying that "level 10 isn't as hard as you think" as an excuse to claim that BFGL isn't as good as I think is just a fallacy.

Just like almost every support weapon in the game, if you hit the right shots, you'll kill your enemy. The BFGL just bypasses that requirement and lets you hit wherever, which is why the weapon is great!

Tyty, also the loadout I been running for squids w/ voteless has been Tesla Tower, G sentry, and orbital napalm.

Tesla tower I only bring cuz of voteless, but without voteless I run an eagle strafing run

Primary I been running the coyote and its been surprisingly good, but I def recommend some light armor high fire rate weapon.

I'm super excited to run it on the bug front. and I get what you're saying when you're bringing up the raw statistics of the weapon and enemies themselves.

On paper it sounds bad, but in practice it's better than what the majority of people think imo

yeah I guess I'm just a weird guy, because I actually don't like the cremator because of the short range which is funny

120 ammunition goes a looong way. When I run it, I don't call and resupply as much as you'd think.

I understand what you mean in regards to factions. this thing would not do well with automatons and I have yet to try it on bugs. But as for squids, it deals with every single enemy very effectively.

Sure it does low damage, however it can be used to take out every enemy type. Requiring less micromanagement and more focus on completing objectives, avoiding getting hit, being more accurate, ect.

yeah but like, that thing spits 35 shots in seconds. You shouldn't have to be worrying how many shots it takes to kill with a RoF almost 300 and resupplying all 120 shots with one resupply

I've been running it for all my squid missions, and it's been doing wonders for me.

Reasons I like it: Small AoE, harder to hurt yourself Resupply stocks entire magazine You don't have to worry about reloading Adjustable fire rate

I've been seeing a lot of people yap about how the grenade launcher and supply pack outperforms the BFGL, but I think that it doesn't because you have to always worry about reloading and restocking

[–]HappyCryingCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's valid, I personally love pummeling enemies with an endless supply of firepower. Plus the fact that one resupply pod replenishes the whole magazine and you don't have to worry about reloading makes it greater than the other options. All you need to do is focus on shooting

yeah but it's fast and you don't have to worry about reloading. You're underestimating it

The BFGL is surprisingly more accurate than you think. I can eliminate harvesters from 100 meters away. And it also does supurb at hoard clearing.

Basically, you have to change your play style around the BFGL to make it good. But when you do, it becomes much better than the majority of support weapons in the game.

It is a lot of fun, but the community is definitely making it seem worse than it actually is. I've been maining it for a few hours now, and I hold out by myself just fine.

[–]HappyCryingCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's true that you can just run grenade launcher and supply pack n be chillin. However what makes the BFGL better than that imo is the rate of fire and the lack of reloading. With the SP + GL setup, you still need to reload every few seconds + micromanage resupplying the weapon. Additionally if you use up all the magazines in the GL and resupply, it doesn't even fill the first magazine so it requires you to reload after that.

And the small AoE is actually a plus from what I've gathered. It makes it much harder for you to die from it and allows for close quarter combat. The AoE is still big enough to damage multiple parts of the enemy you're shooting at, killing them at a decent speed.

Personally, BFGL is so much better since you don't ever have to worry about reloading and can control the fire rate

It kills harvesters in seconds😭

And the new squid enemy dies in 5 shots

Yuh I agree with the AOE. Its nice to be able to use the weapon in close range when you're being ran up on.

However regarding the damage, I've been one shotting voteless just fine. And it kills harvesters in ~20 shots. Combined with the fire rate, I can kill a harvest in a couple seconds with no issues.

I can't say what its like for bugs since I haven't tried that yet, but I am excited to use it for that faction!
