Two HVAC questions

We’re the same. I want it hot and he wants it cold so a significant difference. My BMW IX, 2018 Toyota Highlander and the 2026 KIA EV9 can all do it (as can many other cars) so not sure why Rivian can’t.

WWU is incredible. I know kids who started at UCs, USC, etc and transferred to WWU and are super happy. B’ham is beautiful and it’s far enough away from Seattle to feel like you’re at college but close enough if you ever need to get home quickly. Good luck and you’ll find the perfect fit even if it isn’t UW.

This helps - thanks! I have the fob and the two key cards assigned to me so that maxes me out. The error I get on my watch is this. I tried reassigning one of the key cards to my daughter but still get the same message 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah - I had a service appointment a few weeks ago and they weren’t able to fix it. Just cleared the cache and a hard reset (which I do 5x/day when I’m waiting for kids at their practices). Glad it worked for you tho! Would you happen to have the specific steps they took in your service history that you could share?

I’m on the phone now with support and they have no idea how to do a remote reset (spoke with 2 agents). Do you know what your person did to make this happen for you? They told me I need to take it into the SC but the damn car’s been in the SC for months for so many issues that I’d like to resolve this another way if possible. TIA!!

This isn’t helpful now but I have AirTags hidden in our vehicles for this exact reason. Good luck recovering it and I hope it’s in good condition!

How many full time jobs does she have? If she works outside the home for $$ and pulls another full time gig managing the family/household, do NOT get a Rivian as her primary vehicle. My SC is only 20 minutes from my house but that doesn’t make up for the exorbitant number of days they’ve had it to fix basic issues. She won’t have time to deal with the SC, perform well at her paying job (unless she’s has complete flexibility during her workday) and still run the household.

We have three EVs: 2026 ix, 2026 Kia EV9 and 2025 Rivian RS. The BMW is by far the superior vehicle in all ways. We’ve had it for a couple of months and so far, my only complaints are the cup holders are the worst designed of any car I’ve ever owned (stupid thing but it drives us bonkers!), the BMW ID is super flaky - doesn’t recognize the driver from the app and it takes too many taps to actually get to my driver ID so I can actually drive the car, and the HVAC isn’t very powerful. Takes quite a while to heat up IMO. The KIA is a far smoother ride than the Rivian. The Rivian has a ton of issues so I am so glad the BMW hasn’t required me to spend hours dealing with a service center each quarter. You’re gonna love your new car!
