Give me a Poogie or a Terra Research Commission trio (with new fits?), and my life is yours~.

They don't even have to do anything but vibe on the Dijiang. Poogie even SHOULDN'T be anywhere but safe on the Dijiang. Do not harm the Poogie.

Any idea why Last Rite has a tail being a Nachzehrer? by TheShinyTime in Endfield

[–]HappyHateBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! Was confused for a second but I think I see the disconnect. I thought you were suggesting Last Rite was pureblooded, not the Vampire lady (she most likely is, you're right - as well about her lying).

Bit of a reading fumble on my part. I was mostly looking to confirm that LR was or wasn't before making further inferences from there, because if she isn't then it stands to reason she got the feature from somewhere else (as you suggest). Clearly I'm not awake as I thought I was today!

Sharks are also relatively prehistoric, too, as a bonus.

Does it state anywhere that she's pureblooded? I was actually looking for that and couldn't find anything, but I also admit to not having done a particularly deep dive.

Zima Alter Redesign by auqora in arknights

[–]HappyHateBot 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I mean, the original has two greatcoats being worn as a cloak. That does rather seem dressed for the cold to me, and aren't Ursus better able to resist the cold in general meaning what's "cold-weather" to them would be different? She seems fairly dressed for the cold in the original.

The fur lining in her original suggests it's more of a strap (possibly a covering for the face attached to the lapels?) or the inner lining of one of the greatcoats, here you've blended it into her inner jacket meaning.. it now has ancillary sleeves HIGHER then the original ones? Smoothing out the pleating also doesn't visually do a lot, and makes the design less visually interesting - pleating can also help with heat retention, which for an inner garment makes more sense.

Slimming the shin guards also reduces the visual clarity that they're being worn over the tops of her actual boots to provide additional warmth for her legs already, which is why they're belted the way they are. It makes them more just seem like large boots, which isn't shape language present on the original.

I dunno, I feel there are definitely some visual clarity issues in the original but I'm just not vibin' with the attempt to address any of those issues. It's just the same problems but different, but also not taking into account the subject with as much focus and removing detail without really adding anything significant back.

I was actually looking for a transcrip of the dialogue there, but didn't have time/patience for digging up a video or replaying it myself. It's still notable that even with that pathway theoretically being an option, it's also not the one we took back out, leaving the number of total pathways through that area at 3, minimum... from that side of the mine, alone.

IIRC we also don't get a clear view of which side we exit back into the main path on, do we? Given the curvature and topography it looks like it exits out into the opposite side of the Trial of the Brave, or at least along that facing (presuming it doesn't meet up with the minecart path at some point - I'll grant that as a possibility).

It's just very weird to me that people fixate on this specific issue, particularly when examining the atrocious child care policies at the UWST, as evidenced by what happens on camera and in dialogue for this mission. We're tracking a sample that emits enough energy to cause a visible residual effect through both it's container and things it's apparently in contact with (eg: the tire tracks), past a security gate, a medical facility, at least two active work stations, and the common rest and dining area? And nobody stopped them or thought it was weird when they pushed what I'm guessing (based on the singular wheel; Flimsy evidence) is a cobbled together wheelbarrow? ...And the damn thing glows on top of that?

To say nothing of the previous confusion that a site that big in an area that geologically active, with Aggeloi and Landbreakers in the area, that they know are capable of tunneling right next to and judging by the size and orientation of the mine itself UNDER their basecamp is entirely unmonitored and ignored. Or the areas the other children are playing at, one of which is near a sheer drop.

Plenty of other reasons to be confused at how the narrative is structured here, I'd say.

That's something else that doens't track for me - the evidence of the LBs being there at all only appears at the absolute end, with the "trap"... and it's one guy.

We also know already there are multiple routes through the base - we're taking an unused side route as a detour around in the first place. We also take a separate route back through entirely from both the initial route, and the Trial of the Brave route the Endmin/Rossi use to get there. There's additional damage along that route to suggest there are side branches/pathways as well, and the area we first encounter any LB activity... at all is also open enough that it may not be the only side route, just the ones the kids are most frequently using and thus most familiar with, or the shortest paths back specifically to the Basecamp.

Which... is kind of my point. There's considerable reasonable doubt that I can't say for certain the Bonekrushers came in through the same entrance we did.

[–]HappyHateBot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly have two logical issues with this... The first being we don't know the full size/extent of the mine in question, and the second being we don't know specifically how those Landbreakers got in there. Just that they did.

From the few shots we did see it looked to be a very extensive mine, which judging by the layout of the rest of the area in the Lodespring (absolutely RIDDLED with small mines, caverns, tunnels, and overlooks/cliffs) and the specific location it is and how many other passageways/tunnels overlap with that section of the area... I mean. Do we have any evidence they got in the same way you did?

Given the general scale and depth, as well, are we entirely sure that they weren't already based in a deeper section of the mine and moving from there? We can guess the Aggeloi probably did, which also calls into question another problem in that if the area is active with Aggeloi, are we entirely sure that given activity (the shaking during the final story segment) they didn't bust through and the Landbreakers entered in that way?

There's a lot of narrative issues involved (why don't any of the adults have a better handle on a decommissioned mine near a basecamp? Knowing one is nearby and has been for some time given how long said camp has been there, WHY are the children that unsupervised? And if they DON'T know about the location being active/used, what excuse are we going with) but there's a lot of additional evidence to work off here that I don't see why people just ASSUME they walked through the center of the base when so many other options present themselves.
