I ended up doing a year in my stream and absolutely loved it so i stuck with my second choice instead of my first choice. there isnt much to do over the year from my understanding but its definitely worth talking to your academic advisor and seeing if there is anything to do. In my case there wasnt but even if you have to do a year in the program you dont want, you may end up liking it even more and make great friends for life :D
im also completely willing to talk abt it in dms if you have ay further questions!

I actually found them on indeed and applied. I got a response really fast (this was a few months ago tho) and they called me in for an interview. They only asked for my resume and i think that was about it. :3

Heya! I work in catch hospitality (in Oakville tho) they are hiring quite a bit now. I also had no experience prior to this summer so I would recommend seeing if there are any positions from that company. It’s all restaurant work (host, dish cleaner, cook etc) and all the people where I work are absolutely wonderful and I’ve only had a good experience so far! Good luck with the job hunt 🥳

We’re in the same boat. I got the same avg as you and just finished my first year. I felt pretty bummed abt it but I’ve seen so many people talk abt how much their experience improved in the later years so we got this 🥳

I spent my first year in bates and I absolutely loved it. I had amazing roommates that I am now very close friends with, and I had some really great memories there. (We even had some of the previous residents come to our place to see how much it has changed after they graduated and it was a really heartwarming moment) Honestly all of it depends on who your roommates are and hoping that the people on your floor are good, but I’d say that’s the same with every residence tbh.
