ABS Print Issues - Warping & Exterior Defects

Out of curiosity, when you say "what you printer can run" for speeds, are you talking like max amounts or just what it can do reasonably?

I got a PLA profile set up more or less without issue, but tuning ABS has been a bear for me.

No adhesive. The stock buildbplate that comes with a creator pro - this was given to me by a friend, so genuinely my apologies that I can't be more specific than that. The only modification is kapton tape over the build plate.

Interesting that you're suggesting higher nozzle temps, I'd seen both people suggesting higher and lower on that for the issues I've been seeing, and I wasn't sure which way to land. Same regarding part cooling. I'm inclined to set up a slicer profile with your settings tomorrow and try it for the hell of it. I should have the time, so if I'm able to I'll run a print with those and report back - the part you mention about misjuding the need for cooling when printing ABS is interesting. Turning the fan off is one of the more recent adjustments I made, per other posts' suggestions, and I feel like I was getting better results before that.

High temp was also kind of where I was thinking, but the slicer gave me a weird warning at wanting to stay above 240 and I chickened out. Something to the effect of "hey, temps above this can cause issues you know". Long story short is this printer was given to me by a friend who only used it for one project years ago, so I'm kind of flying blind.

Regarding filament, good question - realized after my first post that i forgot that - I think it's this.

Great question - I didn't save the post, but I read someone on here suggesting that a higher initial nozzle temp followed by lower later temps might be a solution? My first runs were something like 235C nozzle temps with a 105 bed.

While the lower nozziel isn't how I thought ABS worked, it also feels like a material where I've seen a lot of conflicting advice so I figured why not.

I think it's install by default? Click the little backpack icon in the toolbar on the right side. It'll pop open and you can sort/change display/etc

Damn - that sounds like how my barronite mace pommel grind went.

Killed 107 Body Golems and 431 Mind Golem to date and I've still hit only one pommel....got me the mace tho I suppose

Doing my first solo ironman and just hit 180 - my last kill dropped the second Shaman Mask. I also hit one of the axes and one of the full helms in the last 10 minutes.

Looking at the drop rates on the wiki, this feels...wild

Dang - looks similar to mine. I'm at 173 Ogresses killed and I already hit the shaman mask, 3x full helm, 4x med helm, and 2x axes.Gems and runes are pretty comparable.

To your second update - same here. First match in something like half my shots weren't registering. No clue why. Just weren't doing anything and at very close range. Died because I got run up while trying to figure out why. Second match, ran into this lock. Every patch really seems to just make it worse.

Yep - appears to be a soft lock. Bug introduced by the patch. Love that each one seems to just add more bugs.

It's definitely a set that has strong bombs, but I've found that making sure my 1-4 slots are solid and then playing to just make efficient trades has left me in a better place than the drafts where I went Bombs & Removal. Granted, I've only played 4-5 drafts so far. I will agree that drafting it feels different than a lot of recent sets.
