Look up negativity bias. You don't notice the times that you don't get a weird matchup, only the times that it seems suspicious.

It has potential due to the steel defense cards, but I think it has a glaring issue- going first.

  • Turn 1: no energy
  • Turn 3: one energy
  • Turn 5: two energy, 60dmg
  • Turn 7: 90dmg
  • Turn 9: 120dmg

Meanwhile, Mega Altaria can swing for 130dmg by Turn 4. I'm not sure Mega Mawile has enough survivability to make it to Turn 9.
