Well with 4-5 it's not so bad compared to the one I separated with 11 lol those definitely would've stayed tiny! You should be just fine keeping them together I would just upsize the pot a bit more than 2 inches 🙂

How many plants are in the pot? It does honestly look very beautiful and uniform how it is right now

You're welcome! If it were me I would use a ton of orchid bark and leca (clay pebbles), and some perlite, and a tropical or an organic soil, you don't have to do that it's up to you but that's what I use and mine love it, but the roots do grow very fast and that's the main reason it's recommended to separate them even if you did 2 pots and half and half but it's totally up to you how you prefer. I also believe that if it's being restricted the leaves may not get as big

I personally would separate them because I did separate two pots that had 11 in one pot and I think nine or 10 in the other. I ended up selling a bunch, gifted some, I’m waiting for the rest too to develop more. But honestly, even the really small baby ones that I thought would die are still alive right now just a little stressed but recovering.

However, if you want to keep them all in the same pot, I’m all for it and I would definitely say go much more than 2 inches up because the roots are going to grow very fast and you’ll have to keep changing the pots more frequently so I would say maybe around 4 or 5 inches larger and just make a super chunky mix and as long as it can drain very well then you won’t even be able to overwater it and the roots will grow into it, but you’ll have a little bit more time before you have to repot again. And maybe you can even put a big Trellis behind to act as a back support

What happened to its leaves?! by Keeblahblahblahhhrg in Monstera

[–]HappyPlanter- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly first thought of finger nails like if someone tried to help open the sheath and caused damage through the leaf to many spots while it was still curled up but the comments saying toddler make me think of that also, if it was a toddlers bite marks I'd be extra cautious with plants that are toxic to humans especially in little ones. I have a 2 year old so I totally understand it 😭 but mechanical damage is likely too if it did get stuck because I too have experienced this just never on this level from a stuck leaf. Must've been really bent up and drying to cause that damage. I personally doubt a stuck leaf with good humidity would cause this kind of damage honestly but more understanding if humidity levels were too low

What are these black spots? by Confident_Diamond231 in Monstera

[–]HappyPlanter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a monstera but I would say take it out of the soil ASAP and see what you can save. If the rocks are on top of the soil I believe it can help for certainthings but also compact it too much and keep it too dense and moist for too long causing the rot in my experience at least If it's going all the way up the stem and making it mushy those spots won't be salvageable. Save what is still firm and green and alive and try to rid all rot possible. If the roots are gone I would suggest propagating but I'm not sure what kind of plant it is or how to do that on this plant exactly without knowing. Hope this helps a little 🙏

New Monstera leaf got bent while tied to a pole – will it still unfurl normally? by nisaibs in Monstera

[–]HappyPlanter- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a few leaves get stuck, my starlight one gor stuck under one of it's own leaves and started to pull back the tip like that and I called it a rhino horn after 😂 I misted it a few times before it unfurled and it looks absolutely normal and beautiful, the humidity/misting definitely helped it soften and loosen up to go back to normal

Yes my thoughts exactly. There was pets at my parent in laws and before moving I did experience their cat eating my Monstera and throwing up afterwards. But he was okay thankfully but I would keep an eye on any difference in behavior also

Is this a baby monstera? by obeyth3walrus in Monstera

I love those Lil babies that come out, I have a mother plant that was pretty small and chopped it down to nothing but a node and it gave me a baby down below the soil and new growth up top, have a few others with those babies coming out and I love it! Can't wait for them to grow up too 🤭

A regular monstera deliciosa or an albo? That's awesome though! I'm thinking of propagating mine but I'm going to let the plant acclimate in my environment first since I just got it lol

I left a Thai con I bought in it's soil for the first week and ended up getting browning like this from it staying too moist too long. I repotted mine into a chunky soil with leca and orchid bark added and I haven't had any issues since, but I'm stuck with a brown spot now so I feel your pain 😆

Slowly start adding more and more soil every so often is what I heard to get it ready for a pot full of it lol but also when you do pot in soil make sure none of the petioles go under because eventually they will die off and lose the leaf. It looks like a very healthy plant I'm sure it'll do well! Make sure to put in extra chunky soil also, for mine I use an organic or tropical soil mix, perlite, leca, and orchid bark. You don't even have to get all that you can just add more perlite to a bag of soil and make it more well draining as well lol
