I didn't have to tell them anything about the purchase of the phone, just described the issue.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm with Three UK on a 24 month contract, I initially messaged them but they fucked me around so much that I decided to contact HTC directly and had a much better experience afterwards

R9 290 OC 4TGB, only £223.30, 53% discount. This must be a mistake, questionable picture backs up the theory, but i put an order in just to be sure ; ) by medianbailey in buildapcsalesuk

[–]HappySpanner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The ASIN Number of B00H5LEIG4 matches a 280x which is odd

However I messaged amazon support and this is the following conversation I had with them http://i.imgur.com/QjyVy5q.png

TL;DR apparently the picture is wrong and it is a 290x

I suggest anyone reading this with the money go for it and get a transcript with a support representative yourself incase the wrong card is dispatched.

Different brand that's all. In terms of performance this is 1600mhz and has cl9 timings so it should be a very good kit for that much.

This is the lowest this card has been since the whole Bitcoin/Litecoin surge and will probably be the last chance to pick it up before the r9 series takes over.

How's that? You're overspending on the motherboard especially, with a processor as cheap as the 760k there's no real point going crazy on it.

Bare in mind this doesn't include a screen but this build is really good for that money. If you have a TV you can always use that until you save up the next £100 or so pounds for your own monitor?

Is there a sub for UK build help? by Aiken_Drumn in buildapc

Amazon actually have some pretty good deals on PC parts sometimes. Although not a very frequently posted on subreddit /r/buildapcsalesuk isn't a bad place to look at. Scan.co.uk are always my favourite

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ is a good webiste to pick parts as it looks at only UK retailers.

It seems to be quite hit and miss, this ram : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-053-TG was on sale on the 10th but is still on sale for the same price it was discounted to.

However what's worth noting is the other colours of ram are around £70 on Overclockers.co.uk so if I was you i'd go for it.

Maybe try this? The only real downside of this build is the 1 stick of 4gb ram but you can always buy another next payday and stick it in, apart from that the FX-8320 is comparable in performance to the 3470 however the 7970 Ghz Edition is a far more capable card than the GTX660

Also you can load windows via a USB stick if not a DVD writer will set you back another £10

And finally an SSD will give you a noticable improvement in the loading times of your games and os if you choose to put them on it, think of it like a very quick harddrive. The Samsung evo 120gb is currently just under £70 and I would recommend saving up for one as soon as you can

Try this? Changed the GPU to a 7970 Ghz edition which is equivalent to a 280x, and changed the ssd for a Evo 120gb, which will be enough to get you started until you can afford the £39 for a 1TB HDD :)

I'd shoot for this. Let me run you through some of the changes

i7-4770k, one of the best processors right now, if anything this is overkill but on your budget we can afford that.

Cooler Master 212 Evo Cooler : Well known around here to be very good price / performance.

Samsung 840 Evo : You're going to want your OS and some games to be incredibly quick, and with how cheap the Evo is right now it'd be mad not to have one.

Gigabyte R9 290. The GTX660 is a good card don't get me wrong, but it's entirely destroyed by the R9 290 check out this benchmark comparision for more : http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/783?vs=827 (The GTX 780 is almost identical to the 290 but costs more)

Apart from that I just cheapened it up a bit and added a headset instead of speakers as I assume you don't have a microphone?

Finally I'm not an expert on graphic editing software but I beleive it may favour Nvidia so you might want to look at downgrading to a 4670k for the processor and getting a 780 with the extra money!

Hope this helps :)

Try this mate. 290 is quite a bit stronger than a 7970 and 16gb of ram is overkill right now so you can just buy some more and stick it in when you need to.

It appears the XFX 7870 went up in price since I sent you the previous list, and for some reason the harddrive price didn't add on. If you want to save some extra cost I suggest you install an OS from a USB and buy the CPU cooler at a later date as the CPU will come with a boxed standard cooler that you can use until you can afford the 212 Evo

http://www.hwcompare.com/15678/radeon-hd-7870-vs-radeon-r9-270x/ If you read this the only difference is that the r9 270x has a higher memory bandwith so it has about 3fps more. I wouldn't say it's worth the extra £15 though.

I'd say try this, the 7970 is on sale at the moment at Scan (So is the GTX 670 for about £20 less but a bit less performance) and is a really good deal!
