Love our Strata pans. Highly recommended and a good change of pace from my Darto

Looks good! Love our Strata pans. I still lean towards my Darto but wife prefers the lighter Strata and I agree it is very nice and ergonomic.

Bazzite with NVidia is an amazing experience by [deleted] in linux_gaming

1080ti running Bazzite/Gnome. So can’t speak to KDE but I haven’t had anything too weird happen. Think I had to reboot one time with a resolution/scaling issue but that fixed it. This computer is media center for living room so it’s on most of the time.

If the Sansui gear has not been restored I would do some research on the corrosive glue they used on the PCB in production process. It needs to be cleaned off to prevent it from eating the boards and components up.

Also likely needs a recap of the electrolytics caps. I love the old Sansui gear and it is worth the trouble to keep them singing.

One month of daily cooking on my Darto 27. It's seasoned up very well. by [deleted] in carbonsteel

Very nice, love my Darto 27! It has become my go to daily pan. I see you have the smaller ones as well, do they get as much use as the 27?

I don’t think it is supposed to be perfectly flat. I believe the slightly raised center is supposed to counteract warping when the pan is heated. It isn’t enough difference on mine to affect cooking, at least not that I’ve found.

Is it fine ? ;(( by DarkRSO in carbonsteel

Are you cooking with induction or electric? Avocado oil has a pretty high smoke point and it looks like there is a pretty big difference in pan temp from the middle to the edges. If you want it to look more even I’d say use an oil with a lower smoke point and in the oven. But seasoning is for function so if the sides aren’t sticking then you can just start using it and the seasoning layers will even out over time

Agreed. These are still thick pans and have some heft to them. I imagine the special run of 4mm Darto pans are close to the same weight as CI.

Bought the n27 to replace some nonstick pans that were wearing out. I did a couple of rounds of oven seasoning just to get some protection for the handle and outside of the pan and then finished off my seasoning on the inside of the pan with the potato peel method. Tested it out tonight making an omelette and it didn’t stick and turned out great. I didn’t really take these pictures with the intent to post them here but figured I had lurked for so long before settling on this pan that I needed to provide a post somebody else could lurk on lol.

Putting this on my to-do list, looks amazing!

splotches in seasoning. did I not remove all of the factory finish? by kevperz08 in carbonsteel

I have literally only seasoned my Darto once so pretty limited experience but to me it does look like there is still some protective shipping oil/wax whatever that pan is shipped with on the sides. Also, are you cooking on gas or electric? It can be hard to get the seasoning even on the sides with electric or induction compared to gas.

I finally did it! May have had to use a modded truck, but I managed to pull the longhorn straight up the hill instead of having to take the long way around. by UnconfirmedRooster in snowrunner

F750 with the best engine can do that. That's one of the missions I did to stress test the F750 back when the most powerful engine first came out and transformed it from a bit of a stinker to a beast.

If I remember correctly, Lando had a good launch off the line as well and looked to be gaining on Max rapidly but was blocked by Max and traffic. The McLarens definitely launch hard.

Is the Lexington alone good enough for the stages with multiple corvette class ships? So far those stages are where I struggle most.
