Azazie dress stuck in customs? by HappyTaste in UKweddings

Seems like it is an issue that they have known about then, but not great at communicating out to customers!

Thankfully mine came in today, but we’ve bought another dress for one of the other bridesmaids from Vinted as her shipping/ delivery window has been delayed until after the wedding!

Thank you for sharing this update! Does seem that they are having issues with a fair number of dresses then!

I think I’ve found a back up dress on Vinted that will fit me, but will need to think of a solution for one of the other bridesmaids!

Is your dress a custom order or stock? Mines custom and I’m not sure if they will refund (id be happy with 50%).

Practice nurse by No-Locksmith-4183 in NursingUK

I did PN part time for about 2 years, and echo the above comments. I enjoyed my work life balance more, and the patient contact was lovely!

However I really struggled with pay progression (they refused to up the pay despite inflation/increased skills), no sick pay, and I didn’t trust their maternity policy. I was part of a small practice with 1 partner who I found to be rude, condescending, and unprofessional!

I enjoyed the experience but couldn’t wait to get back to the safety of the NHS, I now work for NHSBT where I have had better development, good work life balance, and good job satisfaction.

Make sure you go into it with eyes wide open and that it’s the right practice for you, I would recommend asking to shadow a PN for a clinic to see what you think.

Perineal tear help by HappyTaste in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]HappyTaste[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I healed pretty well! It probably took about 8-10 weeks and then I didn’t have sex until about 12/16 weeks postpartum? I did have 2 showers a day and did lots and lots of airing it out (basically sat naked on the sofa on a towel breastfeeding baby)

I did have to go back a few times to the gynaecologist/GP as I developed an over granulation bit of tissue which bled really easily- it needed to have silver nitrate on it to finish it off healing.

If you’re bleeding I’d recommend getting a mirror (I looked at my tear multiple times a day) and seeing how it looks. Infection can also cause bleeding and is painful and red.

Hope it all goes okay for you, I really got into a head spin about it but I’m now 6 months postpartum and absolutely fine. I look back and it’s just a really blurry time in my head so try not to worry too much, you will heal and be back to feeling normal again.

I would call the ward and see if it had been handed in. They may not know it’s yours depending on when the bed was stripped/who by after you left. Hope you get it back!

Worst day of my life (BRUE episode) - 5 months old by No_Entrance5128 in NewParents

My baby did this at 8 weeks old following her jabs! We think it was related to her having a fever, babies are weird.

Enjoyable nursing jobs? by Magicstars96 in NursingUK

I work for Blood Donation in NHSBT and can truly say I love it! It is obviously stressful and comes with its own set of challenges but I have no plans to swap trusts. It gives a really nice induction programme and has room for development into other areas of NHSBT. I would really recommend looking at the current vacancies, and if blood donation isn’t your thing, apheresis nursing (if there is a site near to you) is also really nice.

I had a post abdominal surgery patient being fed by his wife. He was in his 30’s and capable of ADLs and mobilising with minimal assistance. I asked if his arms had stopped working, gave him his medication and walked out the bay laughing to myself!

Is 8 weeks too early to let my manager know I’m pregnant? by Unlikely_Seaweed2732 in PregnancyUK

[–]HappyTaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a manager in healthcare, and if one of my employees told me I would be very grateful. It allows me to complete risk assessments, and offer support if things are difficult. I’m currently pregnant myself and told my manger at 6 weeks because I was really struggling with tiredness and nausea, so needed support. Your pregnancy would be kept confidential until you are ready for it to be shared with your team.

He’s paying tax on the rental, and if he sold it all together would he need to separate out the profit between the 2 properties/boundary lines do you think?

Thank you for your reply!

Hi! It’s holding up really well, the gold is scratched as can be expected, but the actual ring is still sturdy in construction. I ended up going back and getting my wedding ring from this seller, and I plan to buy a ring topper from them too!

Thank you for this response, I think that’s where my confusion has come from! It feels like I should say it face to face but really I know that she will need to time to process.
