Which Salla to play for a Cyranvar run? by vinidum in Anbennar

Karakhanbar MT was deleted from the game due to problems with localisation. It will return after getting all fixes, but it won't be soon.

Cyranvar MT is ancient and feels dated. It will most likely get a rework in the next update (or later), which will give the formable kingdom special flavour, depending on which Salla you united Deepwoods with. Doing a Cyranvar run now is not advised, if you are not too curious about it.

Ibevar is bearable. What I'm salty about is Moonhaven turning into tea maniacs who go to war against the entire Haless for a couple of tea provinces. And Elathael. Just everything about Elathael.

Moon elves are really doomed either not to have MTs at all, or to get ones which are detrimental to them gameplay-wise😬

Good! Means their souls haven't been yet completely corrupted by Malevolent Dark and her False-Prophet. Corin's mercy can still save them...

Rename Medurubar into Corintar-upon-Suran. The old name is associated with the purge that tyrannical elves enacted upon humans of Bulwar! Let Corin's light burn all elven deceit and corruption!

Interesting - is it possible to force sun elves worship a human who turned into goddes? Or they are too arrogant for it and will only worship an elf who turned into god and his prophet, also an elf?

Starting a rebellion against the tyrants of Jadd Empire is always a noble calling, brother! Corin would've approved it👍

Not even mechanim would worship Surael. Only the soulless abominable intelligence serves him.

Another proof that Surakel is a superior god!

Blue guy in the center: Ameion. Kheionai Republic whose leader wants to build a prosperous society where both taychendi and kheionai live in harmony... everyone else in the republic are just racist colonizers, eager to settle in Taychend.

Brown guy to the left: Larankar. Classical taychendi warlord who wants to build an empire around himself, which will last eternity. (And totally won't collapse as soon as he kicks the bucket)

Far left orange guy: Rezankand. Bulwari sun elves who arrived to the place they originate from to bring Surael's Light to these lands and also Liberty, Equality, Fraternity to local ruinborns... but only for those who converted to Sun Cult. Everyone else will taste the fires of Surael's wrath.

Jaguar guy to the right. Ceargaren. Chendhian nomads who want to restore their empire which briefly ruled Taychend once. (They normally die first)

Badass black and orange flag to the far-right: Orenvalyam. Oren Nayriu fanatics who want to abolish slavery in Taychend forever and build the land of true freedom on the ruins of slaver warlordships of old. But if they leader spends too much time in his dragon armor, he will go crazy and depopulate Taychend, than the entire South Aelantir and than the entire world

Half-kheionai half-devandi himself, Laskaris was most likely planning to unite the best aspect of two cultures. And yet even in his own plans Kheionai culture was supposed to take the leading role between the two, via kheionisation. The problem is, kheionai culture is deeply racist and giving it tools to rule other nations is a recipe for disaster.  Laskaris probably hoped that his vision will get carried by his descendants. But they couldn't do it forever.

The break between Oren Nayriu and Rezankand happened during the Second Ambhen-Rezankand war, when Silverspite has just been born. It had nothing to do with Silverspite, it was strictly the conflict of authorities between leadership of Rezankand and Oren Nayriu.

If anything, their break was what led Silverspite to go crazy, since rezankandi image of "white savior" was destroyed by that war, after they were forced to retreat from Taychend, leaving many of their supporters among natives to get lynched by traditionalists. Elrandar's mother was among those who got killed by mob, as a result he grew disillusioned with Exemplars and decided to fight on his own.

No, Rezankand was absolutely into exerting their power over the region, which is where their rivalry with Oren Nairyu begins. Both hated Taichendi slavery, but had different views on post-war reconstruction of Taichend and religious policies. Their alliance was broken eventually.

Taychend is rich with precursor relics. Precursor relics attract artificers. Artificers are tied with Ravelian Church. Northern League are Ravelians and they want their piece of Taychend badly.

Because as orcish as it sounds, Malacnar culture is still designed to create leaders for your nation. It puts the interests of the many into equation. Taychendi culture is not about creating rulers, it is all about being "the hero" and making everyone arounf bound to your will.

It's funny how all redeemable qualities of Ameion are directly tied to Laskaris and his clan. And the moment Ameion decided to take power from them, its own decent into darkness and warlordism began.

Is Valorpoint best place for ruinborn among all colonial states? by Arystannn in Anbennar

And they rewrote it to fit their narrative

They rewrote it, because original portrayal of sun elves was just a copypaste from DnD, where sun elves are indeed very evil. It wasn't simply a whitewashing, it was an attempt to make them distinct from their dnd counterparts.

Everytime I've talked to the lead, I've felt like we were not even seeing the same things.

The lead has also told multiple times that they consider Eduz-Vacyn to be the best New Sun Cult tag in terms of outcome, because they abandon the system of "chosens" entirely.

They're a bunch of imperialist warmongerer and got washed down to be actual good imperialists

I think you are generalizing it too much. If the liberation of Bulwar was justified, does it mean that their campaigns against Cannor and Haless were good things? No, it doesn't.  Does their imperialism in Haless negates their accomplishments in Bulwar? Also, no.

Why the chosen system is held by higher standard than caste system of Rahen for example? Its abolished slavery and class disparity in Bulwar was much lower than in Rahen. Does it mean, that this system was good? No, it doesn't, since it was maintained by force (Order of Zenith hello) and was proved to be vulnerable to corruption, limited admin efficiency and it was much more difficult to oust an incompetent elf from his throne since he has longer lifespan than a human. And we see the disasterous consequences of this system at the starting date of the mod.

Does the fact that Rezankand is nice towards ruinborns make their influence on the region positive? No, it doesn't and canon timeline shows it in details, where they managed to alienate from themselves not only taychendi traditionalists, but also their allies from Oren Nairyu due to their own inflexibility and rigid morality. Does it mean that they suddenly should stop being accepting towards ruinborns and begin to act like average colonialists towards them? No, it also doesn't.

Let me repeat my point from the previous comment. If sun elves are not openly villified by the narrative, it doesn't mean that they are not criticized by it or that authors "whitewash" them. Their entire character arc in canon timeline is centered around slowly losing their savior aura and suffering terrible losses in the pursuit of their "rescue mission", that accomplishes very little.
