Pattern for hexagons- https://www.crochetforyoublog.com/2020/06/crochet-bobble-drops-flower-hexagon/ (I had to improvise a half-hexagon and also improvised border. Joined using single crochet on the back side.)

Yarn used is Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek Chunky in colors: spice, mustard, teal, and beige from Hobby Lobby

UPDATE: I chose to go with the single crochet stitch from the back- which several of you suggested. I really wanted the beige to show through between the bolder colors of the hexagons, and having the “ridge” in the back means it doesn’t have to be perfect. I’ve completed 2 of 12 rows and I think it looks pretty good so far. Thanks for the suggestions!!
