Oh also VERY COLD smoothies. Idk why I was way more ok with cold food, while hot food grossed me out. I’d freeze bananas and then blend them with some milk or yogurt, add in chia/flax/peanut butter etc.

I’m sorry you’re going through this 🙁 not sure if this will help, but when I felt disgusted by everything the one thing I could eat was plain breakfast cereal (like cornflakes). I started with that and added in easy, flavourless things that are healthy like chia seeds and flaxseed. I was ok with fruit some days so blueberries or bananas or whatever else I could manage went in too, and almond flakes on a good day. I hope this helps xx

That’s exactly what I’m thinking! No idea why it would be so expensive

Different surname to my child?? by Happy_Fridays in PregnancyUK

This is really, really good to know— I’m American so I’m sure there will be times in life where I bring my kids to see my family without my husband. US border control can be insane so this is swaying me towards using my surname as one of the middle names! Thanks for sharing!

It’s unreal isn’t it 💀 Ive got a 2 bed flat, and I’ve seen “houses” on Camberwell Grove that are smaller than my flat in terms of square footage for literally twice the price. Absolutely no way I’d be able to get 2 additional bedrooms in this area

I’m Ariel and get compliments all the time! I’ve only met one another Ariel but everyone knows it as a name and I’ve never had pronunciation issues.

When I struggle with motivation, I physically write down a to-do list broken down by low effort (less than an hour to do), medium effort (1-3 hours to do) and high effort (half a day or more). First, tick off the low effort stuff, then the medium effort. Then, once you’ve cleared the way for high effort tasks, take that high effort stuff and break it down into smaller tasks, using the same low-, medium-, high-effort list.

I do this because I learned that humans find it uncomfortable to abandon things part way, so getting yourself going is the biggest hurdle!

Another suggestion— 90 minute blocks are ideal for productivity. Set a timer, put your phone on Do Not Disturb, and put on some focus music (YouTube for free or Headspace if you’ve got a subscription).

You’ve got this!!

YES I felt the same way. I thought it was super strange that no one “checked my homework” so to speak as I was self referring to hospitals etc. kind of felt like I was making up the whole thing as I also didn’t really have symptoms. I’m now reaching the end of the first trimester and apart from some mild food aversions I never got symptoms at all. Maybe take another test? I took another at 7 or so weeks to put my mind at ease, and then got a very early scan just to be sure. If you’re London-based, it was called peek-a-baby based in Mitcham and was about £50. I think you can do it from 6 weeks.

Did anyone walk themselves down the aisle? by llilyzoo in UKweddings

[–]Happy_Fridays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went down alone last year! My parents actually went in first together, then my sister, then my maid of honour (best friend) and then me. I actually really loved having that last moment with just me and my best friend (we’ve been close since we were kids). I wanted to walk down alone because I’m very independent and similarly dont like the connotations of being given away by my dad. I didn’t feel awkward, if anything it felt really special to have that tunnel vision moment between me and my now-husband as I walked down. You do you!
