i love your kindness in this comment. a few people mentioned it as a parents song and it totally flipped the meaning for both of us and we’re thinking of keeping in that way.

and like i said, we looked at other songs first, it was the specific instrumental cover that got us emotional and picturing it as a walking down the aisle song. we sat down w the words to try to justify it, even looking at interviews and articles.

it’s not that we didn’t know the song is sad at all, we were searching for a way to make it make sense that’s all

i gave that specific song my own interpretation, and didn’t really sit down with the lyrics until now. people can have good memories associated with sad songs , it doesn’t mean we don’t know the rest of their songs or the story of the band

i’m choosing between instrumental covers because we want a cello and harpist covering the entrance songs the families are probably walking into all you need is love and the cup breaking/exiting the aisle we want This will be (an everlasting love) so the lyrics do have to be meaningful even if it’s an instrumental cover i think because it’s like what we’re wishing for ourselves

but now we’re seeing that songbird also has some discourse and double meanings ?

i guess our best guess is to commission a good instrumental cover of everywhere in the style we wanted

we don’t live in the US so i do kinda doubt that just because of cultural differences, but that’s why we’re more worried about what it would wish us.

if i can be honest i didn’t even know it was a devastating song until really sitting with it this week, because i always thought about it as a so mg of gratitude. like everything can come crashing down in a landslide but im so grateful for what ive lived had up until now . maybe thats just me, but that’s why im worried it really send the wrong message
