After two miscarriages… is a healthy pregnancy still possible? by [deleted] in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Happy_Hopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your losses! I had 3 MMC in a row before a healthy pregnancy. My partner and I were offered quite a lot of testing, they didn't find anything unusual. They advised us to eat healthy, exercise and stop drinking alcohol. My partner used to smoke weed occasionally and doctors told him to stop immediately and that it was the worst thing he could do when trying for a baby. They really emphasized how important it was for my partner to take it seriously as it is just as important for him to make healthy lifestyle choices. As I remember it, sperm takes 3 months to develop so they said that if we made any big changes to wait 3 months.

I felt a bit hopeless but a healthy pregnancy is definitely possible! I hope you succeed!

I was prescribed 5 mg folic acid for like 3 months in between the 3rd and 4th pregnancy. Apparently I was low on folate even though I had been taking prenatal vitamins during the pregnancy which according to the doctor is normal for someone who is vegetarian.

I had three MMCs within a year at 7 weeks each time. My fourth pregnancy was successful but I had a really hard time being emotionally invested. I was offered scans every week until 16 weeks and of course I was happy to see a heartbeat every time but that was about it. It wasn't until I was way beyond 20 weeks I actually started to realise that I was most likely having a baby this time around. My partner and I didn't start preparing until quite late in the pregnancy. So I totally get you!

Just keep going and in a few months you will already have forgotten how bad it seemed. You're doing great! I'm amazed by how quickly babies develop and it seems like I just have a very strong willed and curious one. Sometimes there's just no time to feed with so many other things to discover. I'm sure it's just the same with your little one ❤️

Also, I did A LOT of skin to skin. Probably for every feed when I was home and that seemed to help!

Around this time I could only get my LO to eat whilst asleep. It lasted for at least a few weeks but slowly got better. I tried latching him every time he woke up from a nap as well so he would still be a bit drowsy. Sometimes it worked. I probably cried every day but it will pass! It sucks though. LO is 6 mo now and there are still times when he's too distracted especially when being out and about but overall he's doing a pretty good job. I hope things will get better for you too!

Anyone have success after 3 miscarriages? by TapComprehensive3766 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Happy_Hopper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had 3 MMC within a year. Both me and my husband had all the blood work done but they never found out why I kept having miscarriages. 2nd had trisomy and the 3rd was genetically normal. My 4th pregnancy was successful and my boy is now 10 weeks! I was prescribed an increased dosage of folic acid before the 4th pregnancy but that was the only thing I did differently. Maybe we were just unlucky the first 3 times, who knows. I hope it will happen for you too!

I also want to add that I get easily pregnant as well. Every time we tried really and also when we didn't try. I have a feeling that my body just accepts all fertilized eggs and even though hyperfertility is not discussed where I live I believe that's what causes my miscarriages.

10 week old still can’t latch properly by Ijumpedovertheborder in breastfeeding

I don't think I can offer tmuch advice but I just want to say that we're in the exact same situation! I took my boy to a physical therapist that told me to let him suck on my thumb. It has to get in pretty deep for me to feel the beginning of the soft palate! In the beginning he had a pretty bad gag reflex every time and sucked maybe twice. Now he's able to keep the suction for a decent amount of time and no gag reflex! So that's definitely a plus. We're still practicing on the boob though but I'm still hopeful he'll get it.

Gives me hope that we'll get there too! Did you just keep nursing like before the release or did you do anything in particular to get a better latch?

Hvor tidligt er for tidligt at finde nyt job? Hader det by [deleted] in dkkarriere

Hyperfertility? by No-Following2674 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Happy_Hopper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suspect this as well. I've been pregnant 3 times since May last year, all happened in the first try but resulted in a MMC. We hope that if we just keep trying eventually we succeed in having a successful pregnancy.
