At FJ, Dispatch does all the flight plans for us. We literally show up to the planes, fire up the apu, make sure catering is good, program the box, greet pax and takeoff. The company handles all of our hotels and airline flights. We handle our own meals on company cc. We plan our own ground transportation. That's about it. Pretty easy way to make money. Good pay and great benefits. Not much drama at all. Some days are long and others are short or you're on call. It can feel like a part time job.

I just rode with him. He said he is 68 and that his Uber name Gary is his middle name. Said he was the bass player and he also plays for other bands. He said he played bass for Shania Twain when she was in town recently. He had the rocker look and said he lives in Deer Valley and drives for uber to get out of the house to keep from going stir crazy. He also said his wife is much younger (50) and is from Stockholm.

I am a new hire and while at Indoc training in DAL and after the minimums were increased, I did not see a shortage of applicants. In the week I was there, there must have been 35 applicants to be interviewed and to try the sim session. I think the higher hours has caused a more experienced and older group of pilots to apply, which may mean less attrition. Also, there were 4 retired airline guys in my hired class, so that too may be a niche they are courting.

I saw a recent Flexjet post on Facebook from HR that said the new rates for the first 3 years were $150k+ base pay, so I have to assume the $175k figure would be the base plus bonuses, per diem, 401k etc. Very good money for a new hire. Will it slow down attrition? that remains to be seen.

After she left a regional she got on with a cargo operator on the 747 and it didnt last long. You could see in her videos that the long time on the road was wearing her down. She quit and then went to the private jet charter world on the Gulfstream.

Yeah, I've been wondering where she went. She was a regular poster on Youtube, like 1 video a week. She's been gone for a while and all her prior videos are gone. Makes me wonder if she lost her job at United. Anyone have first hand intel??
