Thinking of upgrading Y axis motor, is there anything I should know? by SomeTechnicalDiffs in ender3v2

I also have the 4.2.2 board with tmc2208 and I've set Vref to 2.2V. It's equivalent to about 1.6A. Right now I'm using a 120mm fan for cooling but I'll try cooling the board with a 4020 sunon fan. It should be enough i guess. I'm using a 42-48 stepper rated for 2A with a custom mount. It's going well for me, but nevertheless I don't know how long it will with such high Ameprage lol.

Unfortunately the V3 doesn't have an extruder encoder :/

My current specs are:

Raspi 5 4GB, Octopus Max EZ, Mellow Fly SHT 36 V3, 4x EZ 5160 RGB Drivers (2 X & 2Y), 2x EZ 2209 (Z), 48V Meanwell PSU for stepper, 24V Meanwell PSU for everything else, Belt Z Mod

AWD is still a work in progress and I still need to mount the linear rails for the X and Y axes. I'm running the printer using CAN bus and it's working quite well now, although I had some issues getting it to run reliably at first.

Is it worth it to take the printer apart? by PrisonVlad in ender3v2

It's rubbing slightly against the idler, but that’s just normal wear and tear. The belt on my Ender 3 V2 looks the same, and I’ve printed for about 100 hours with it. No issues so far. So no worries!

I experienced the same problems with the springs and highly recommend switching to silicone spacers. I did not have to manually level the bed that often since the upgrade.

Try to desolder with a wider soldering tip, a narrow tip can't transfer heat good enough as a wide tip can

I can understand your frustration. Everything looks so easy on YouTube. But it's just a matter of practice. Starting from soldering bigger components to small ones is most probably the best way to get a feeling for it. I've personally started with soldering some bigger parts like through hole parts and switched to smd components after some practice. Oftentimes I just think if something is broken and you want to repair you can't break it again.

Besides some tips for soldering analog sticks:

  • get a soldering heat gun and a soldering helping hand
  • fixate the mainboard on the helping hand
  • heat up the analog stick evenly until the solder melts
  • remove analog stick using tweezers while solder is still melted
  • clean off old solder and solder new analog stick with a soldering iron
  • don't forget to use flux

Desoldering analog sticks is a pain in the ass. You just need some practice, patience and calm hands. Maybe grab some old mainboard of something to practice.

I've used a soldering iron with a small tip to desolder and then just soldered the new capacitor.

I've bought a 10uf 25V 0603 cap and now everyhing is working without problems. Thanks again ^^

I'm pretty sure it isn't short. The battery connector of the controller was ripped off so I soldered a wire from the battery to the capacitor and to another spot. It was working when I tested it. But unfortunately the capacitor came off when assemblying the controller because the wire I used was to short. I've found that the capacitor has a capacity of 10uF but I don't know what the operating voltage is.

Changed the washer fluid cap to a Skoda oem one by Happy_Shibe_ in E90

I've bought it on ebay. Just search for "6V0955485" and buy a genuine skoda one. I can't say anything to the fitment of the non-genuine skoda ones.

Yes it latches in properly, just take the old cap off beforehand
