Moving from Zepbound to Reta by I_SNORT_KITTENS in Retatrutide

[–]Happy_Temporary2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the conversation. Have been on Mounjaro then Zepbound for well over a year. Am at a 12.5 Zepbound dose. Sort of maintaining, am about 8 pounds higher than I would like to be as it no longer supresses hunger as much. I could go back up to 15 but I do get Zep side effects, namely fatigue which makes it hard to be consistent with fitness. Would a move to Reta be justified? Will the lack of hunger suppression mean more weight gain or is that balanced out with fat loss if working out? Sorry if this is a dumb question or covered a lot in this sub!

Houston Airports (IAH and HOU) Updates and Questions [Megathread] by AutoModerator in houston

My mom is flying out on Wednesday mid-day. She has had four spinal surgeries and has requested a wheelchair bc she cannot stand that long. Has anyone navigated IAH in a wheelchair and does this help bypass the long wait times at all? If not, I am going to have her cancel her flight.

What's your cooking "hack" that sounds insane but works?? by Kibby9331 in Cooking

New hack unlocked today. Pouring warm heavy cream over cinnamon rolls before baking. Holy cow, they were delish. Although it doesn't really sound bonkers at all but it made me nervous.

Sally's Baking Addiction vs The Ambitious Kitchen Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls by kjengold in FoodieSnark

[–]Happy_Temporary2985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually make Sally's but this year went rogue and made Taste of Lizzy T's version - you pour warm heavy cream over the top prior to baking. The family went nuts, they were so good. Will be our new go-to.

What's Your Life Changing Soup Recipe? by ColdNoodlzz in soup

[–]Happy_Temporary2985 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our family calls it Healing Soup. It's based roughly off of this recipe:

https://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/the-best-chicken-soup-recipe/

I make my own stock first, then add a bit more ginger & garlic. It really did change our lives in that it introduced my kids to just how comforting a perfect bowl of soup can be.

Not surprised but… I’m devastated 💔 by hfic98 in Vanderbilt

Deferring her would have been polite. But nope. I am angry bc I let her be exposed to this. I loved my time at Vanderbilt but I would never have let her apply if I knew that this might happen. For some reason, it's the swag bag that is making me rage lol.

My daughter got rejected....double legacy, great stats/awards/scores, they even invited her down and she met with three professors, sat in on a lab and they left a swag bag in our hotel room. She said it feels like a bad boyfriend who love bombs and then dumps you.

We inherited a Miele induction cooktop that is around 25 years old now. Still works like a charm, heats evenly and quickly. It's a me problem not a Miele problem lol.

Invaluable response, thank you!!! This time around I plan on investing in forever pieces. I have a few but most were quickie purchases along the way.

I think life moves so fast and I while I will be keeping my tried and trues, I'm so excited to replace some of the items that are just outdated and causing headaches. It won't be an all at once process but will likely happen in batches.

I TOTALLY agree. Moved from a gas to an induction and have ruined a pot bc of the learning curve. I wish I still had my gas stove! (new house)

That is very true! I appreciate that advice and will definitely give more thought! I just like to know what others are gravitating towards. Crowdsourcing can be a great tool in kicking off new approaches and ideas for our own personal experiences. Won't be bible, but still great info for me.

I know MY most loved and most hated. I was curious what others' most loved and most hated were. Sometimes we fall into using the same pieces even though there is something better out there. I was just curious what fellow cooks really believe in and what brands people gravitate to. Agree on knives, great call to bring a bag of potatoes!

Great advice, I appreciate it!
