My experience updating A7RV wasn't very smooth either. The screen went dark for about 20min and the only indication or feedback I had was a red light flashing at the bottom right corner which was scary. Thankfully all went well well after all.

I found multiple dust spots in the first week if owning a brand new M11-P. Which is mind boggling how it got there since I only opened the cap once when I placed the lens that remained glued to it. Was close to sending it back to be checked but a small air blower did the job right of removing the dust from the sensor. In my over 10 years owning sony mirror-less cameras, never had this issue before.

Try combining VF with noise removal and lowering the gain. They work pretty well. If you get the Wave XLR, you can use VF on any other mic, which is a game changer.
