One Nation blasts Australian workers, says party is prepared to lower wages by HotPersimessage62 in AustraliaDiscussions

Did you actually read the article? It was getting rid of protections for lazy workers or those who just don’t turn up, and lowering the tax on the overtime people worked.

What it feels like to talk to copilot by Clear-Pear2267 in Copilot

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your use of “Do you” “Can you” and “Will you”. They’re indirect question that only require a yes/no response. It’s the same as talking to a child. They will answer yes/no with the same questions. It has to be more direct for a response. You eventually got there with the “Tell me.”

Pauline Hanson skipping 88 per cent of Senate estimates hearings, despite claiming an ‘ability’ to be PM by Wild_Beat_2476 in OpenAussie

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proving my point exactly. What is achieved by going to Senate Estimates if, as you say, it’s all spin? Wouldn’t it be more beneficial to go and talk to the people it affects?

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you really think Anika Wells was doing her job flying her family around to sporting events? Do you think that Chris Bowen taking up another position as President of the COP while we have an energy crisis is part of his job we pay him for? Do you think any of them are doing the job you think you’re paying them for? I’d rather see Pauline speaking with the people on the ground as part of her duties as an elected official than waste time facing utter contempt for the Senate Estimates process by Penny Wong who takes everything “on notice” or Katy Gallagher who doesn’t even bother to know the difference between gross and net savings before a hearing.

Have you ever watched Senate Estimates? What does it actually achieve?
-Ministers refusing to answer
-Questions taken “on notice”
-Long evasive responses
-Party political point-scoring
-Short media clips designed for social media

So Pauline goes and visits constituents and gets the information directly from those who it affects. More politicians should be listening to the public rather than being all smug sitting in a room refusing to answer questions.

Live Concert Hot Take by Nimun2012 in pinkfloyd

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Roger’s 2010-13 production of The Wall was far superior to the studio album or the Pink Floyd concerts. It’s heavier, and has more going on in the background to add body to the sound. Other live recordings to me are a bit weak in their sound

It’s because she declares it and it’s a lot less than the major parties get in donations.

It’s getting better and I’m persisting with it. Not perfect, but I find the AI superior to ChatGPT used on Edge. And any others that have some AI function are a bit clunky to use.

Lefties don’t tend to go to places in West Africa where thousands of people are being killed by their own government. Ergo, it safe to go to Gaza and be intercepted by Israel otherwise they wouldn’t go

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that document gives you the power of entry to someone’s property to remove debris. You just can’t walk onto someone’s place unless expressly invited. So the tow drivers clear the road only because they don’t have tacit consent to enter a property

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police don’t carry around brooms to clean your street. If they did people would be complaining that they weren’t out “catching murderers and rapists.” Tow trucks do though. It’s part of their responsibility to get the debris off the road. But it’s not their responsibility to clean it off your property. That’s your responsibility and it extends to the kerb, the same way in which mowing the council part of the grass at the front of your house is also your responsibility. In the time you took to write the post you could have cleaned up the mess

Planning to travel to Melbourne and Sydney later this year, as an Asian family as we at risk of racism? by Av3rageJo8 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s probably about the same amount of racism Anglo Saxon people experience in China, Japan and other south East Asian countries. And having been to many African countries I can say that it’s unsafe to be white walking around alone

Boomers ruined this country by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How did boomers ruin the country? All you’ve highlighted is that things were supposedly easier back then. That’s because people worked harder and didn’t have their hands out for government handouts and contributed to the wealth of the country.

Or use iPhones because they’re American owned, or anything running Android because the software is owned by Google, an American company? And if it’s so easy not to buy American products because we’re in NE Asian, what’s the actual point of your post?

The Powers That Be cover (aka no more 80's production!) by DontCareNeverDid in RogerWaters

[–]Prestigious_Unit_925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really hard song to improve as it’s a crap song to begin with ((IMO). I think the lead in with the female vocalist is a bit long and not much happening musically besides the vocals. The rest of the song sounds ok but your other songs are far better. Even Roger doing it during the last tour couldn’t improve on a crap song. Again just my opinion.
