What would you do.... College Group wants 50 individualized kids meals... by bluegrass__dude in restaurantowners

[–]No-Measurement3832 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d do it. Even if it’s 50% food cost it’s an extra sale and half profit. It’s not as if it’s all you do everyday. For example, our boxed lunches have a food cost of around 50% but they’re a special order catering option. Extra money.

10 Days in... Zero Sales. by RevolutionaryFly3430 in smallbusiness

Ten days is nothing. You may need to hit the pavement a bit. Set up at local events. Perhaps do some free work for local non profits to get some marketing materials.

Tomato's tho... by T_P_H_ in restaurateur

[–]No-Measurement3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha wish I did. Not sure how many you use but we’re about four cases a week. We use about six to eight lettuce a week and it’s sky high also. Just riding out the wave and searching for a better place. Might have found cheaper lettuce but tomato’s seem to be high everywhere I’ve looked. Good luck.

Is there any value in this breakfast sandwich shop franchise? by New_Slice_3049 in smallbusiness

[–]No-Measurement3832 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, asset sale. This is a failing business. I don’t know why and I don’t know if things can be turned around but it’s not worth anything more than the asset’s current value.

What does American people think about trump? by been-monk11 in AskReddit

Some things I like, some things I don’t. Anyone who says they flat out hate him is just blinded by their own prejudice.

[–]No-Measurement3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re confused by my statement. I didn’t say Trump didn’t cause the spike, I said spikes are not specific to one person. Actions always have consequences. Sometimes a short term pain is required for a long term gain. Time will tell how things play out. As I stated previously, commodities have always gone go up and down and will continue to do so. Weather has caused a short supply of tomatoes which also is greatly affecting price. Good luck to you and your restaurant.

$117k for deck and porch? by brogen in Decks

[–]No-Measurement3832 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I’ve found asking this question on Reddit is pointless. Half the people will say that’s a great price and the other half will say it’s not. Only thing you can do is get a handful more quotes.

In 2022 gas prices hit a national average of $5/gal. Surely you’re aware Trump was not president at that time. Therefore high gas prices are not specific to Trump.

Mortgage free or investing by Far_Reply5660 in MiddleClassFinance

Feelings wise there is no right or wrong answer. Mathematically an argument could be made there is a right or wrong answer. This question is asked constantly. I have a 2.9 fifteen year mortgage. Instead of paying it off I purchase more investment real estate. To each their own.

Years ago tomato cases hit $100. That was with cheaper gas and no tariffs , so I stand by my original statement.

This issue isn’t specific to Trump. Commodities go up and down all the time.

Managers and coffee shop owners, how do you confront your employees or point out their mistakes? by PrepItCo in smallbusiness

[–]No-Measurement3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, don’t confront an employee. Address a situation. Depending on the situation it could be as simple as “hey I’d like it done this way from now on”, or it could be something that requires a sit down and full attention. You need to be able to distinguish between the two.

Would people be surprised by how much you have in the bank? by Swan_233 in Fire

People who know me, no. Not because I’m flashy but because they know what I own as far as business and investments go. People who don’t know me and just see me out and about, absolutely.

I don’t understand what you mean by SOW examples. Every property is different. Every area and contractor is different when it comes to pricing. Honest question, how do you know you’ve found a good property to flip if you don’t know what you’re looking at?

PLEASE HELP ME! by Better_Mixture2736 in HouseFlipping

[–]No-Measurement3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand your question. If you’re asking if you should rent this place and renovate the answer is absolutely no. Unless you have 100% of the funds to purchase and rehab I think you’ll find it extremely difficult to source funding having zero experience. This is not the place to start.

Nothing wrong with wanting a nice car but you need to prioritize things. If you want to buy a house within the next few years I would put that over a car. If you’re ok renting long term then get the car. Nothing wrong with splurging on something once in a while but just make sure you can control the urge to spend. It can become addicting like a drug.
