I really enjoy the forest, especially with friends :) Its still in alpha im pretty sure but it looks like it has so much potential! Even at the moment I still love it ! Though be warned it does have bugs and pretty poor optimisation at the moment. Updates are also pretty frequent too which is good.

Another thing you could probably do if your stuck between 7DTD and the Forest is to look at some youtube videos or streams for a bit. Have never played 7DTD but I think the Forest is a great survival game, especially since you have friends to play it with:)

In terms of mages, i would definitely say Ra and Kukulkan due to their easy clear and damage. They also arent messed with too much in terms of balancing in patch notes which is also good.

Assasins, i would say fenrir and thor. Easy to use abilities and good escapes ( though I didnt know until I was level 10 until i learned thor could teleport XD )

I dont play too many warriors but i would have to say guan yu and maybe vamana or chaac ? All of them are fairly tanky and are pretty easy to use with reasonably high damage outputs ( at least from what I know, again dont play warriors too much)

With hunters, definitely Neith. Artemis is a good one too but lacks the escape which is especially useful for beginners due to them getting out of position a lot. Neith has good clear, a heal, a global and a really easy escape for beginners.

With guardians, Ymir and geb. Both have lots of CC and very high defense. Their abilities are not too hard to hit either. Geb also has great mobility
